Hardly surprising that we lost really. It's just the reality of the situation. We're safe, and that's enough... apparently.

Our only interest in this league now, is whether there will be two derby games to be embarrassed in next season <ok>

Just a bad day for us.

We were poor, even abysmal in the final third. I like De Jong but he does lack conviction in front of goal. Players can't be accused of not caring, look at the reaction from Krul and Colo for the penalty not being given.

Ameobi coming on was a joke. He's leaving in the summer, he is a last resort if all other strikers are injured. If Remy is out for the next game just go with Armstrong and De Jong for me, both are likely to be part of our future. I'm all but certain that Cisse and Shola won't be. We're in the comfortable position of no pressure so blood the youngsters.

On a final note Dummett was garbage today, his crossing and set plays were pathetic. Haidara for me in the next game.

where is haidara and why is dummet favourite ahead of him. Haidara looks a real star in the making.

That's not negative, not even close!

Negative is my view of next season <monster> Seriously, I'm not even sure we'd trouble 19th place if we have another baron transfer window...

According to the Journal Pardew was allowed to issue Carver with instructions via phone throughout the match so they were probably AP's sub calls. Bringing Ameobi on when there are better options seems to happen almost every game.

Yes... a distinctly stinky whiff of Pards about that sub...

I love him, but the only logical explanation for Shola's continued existence in a Newcastle United shirt (aside from milling round Asda on a Tuesday afternoon with the other useless twats, as he should be), is that buried deep within the vaults below St James', is a safe protected by a rare and powerful ancient magic, which may only be unlocked through the spilling of the present manager's blood by the horn of a bi-curious gazelle... Within this safe, is a scroll, a scroll composed in a time of legend by the gods, which simply reads... "Ameobi is the key."

What bad luck eh?... never mind we move on.
We're not like the Mackems... we ain't gonna spend two weeks blaming everyone from Oswald to the tooth fairy for not burying a team.
    On we go eh.

    Krul interview

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/9216036

"In my opinion it was a penalty," said Krul. "I controlled it on my chest and his arms were up in the air. Sometimes it's difficult for the referee to see it but that's when you need his assistants to help him a little bit and unfortunately it didn't fall for us.

"He told us it was very close and he thought his hands were by his side, but they weren't. His arms were up in the air and in my opinion it was a penalty."

    Carver interview

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9216032

"I've spoken to Howard and he says he was in a difficult position to see it so he hasn't given it. We have to accept it."

Carver, who was standing in for the suspended Alan Pardew, believes that Webb missed a foul on striker Luuk De Jong moments before Dejagah's strike.

"I'm a little bit disappointed with the decision about the challenge on Luuk De Jong that led to their goal," he said.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

he shouldn't be refereeing then, if he can't get his positions correct

too many times has this ref ballsed up against us

he sees what he wants, he sees what he waaaaaaaaants, Howard Webb (cheating bastard) sees what he wants

It was hard work and I was flat out most of the time... which in itself was knackering.
I found that the key was to do things how the Americans do and just go with the flow.
It's their place.. and their rules so sometimes you gotta just let them take the lead.
Hoping to develop things more though as there are a couple of large, ongoing opportunities I hope to work on moving forward.
