Morrison missed absolute sitter in last minute like at Huddersfield. Hoilett hit bar. Keeper made 2-3 top saves. City only started playing when losing. Appalling tactics.
Pretty angry right now. I know the midfield is light and we’re running on fumes, but letting other teams have possession is ****ing idiotic unless you’re Man City or another team of that calibre. Going to bed when ****ing annoyed isn’t conducive to a decent nights sleep. Good night folks and I will assess everything in the cold light of day.
It was painful watching 75 minutes of long balls to a lone striker. City should have started like they finished; easier said in hindsight but fcs Warnock did you really think 0-0 with no real attacking intent would be sufficient when a win was essential? Yes we should have scored and we’re both unlucky and wasteful but it was too little too late. An atrocious Brighton team is going to stay up.
I cannot understand the thinking from our manager and his assistants. The game was there to be won and we played 80 minutes for a draw. Niasse was a waste of space and it was obvious after 30 minutes that he didn't want to be there. He should have been hauled off at half time and Reid given the chance in his place for the whole second half not 5 minutes at the end. Warnock bought him and the lad has wasted his time this season as a player and the club has seen £10M of it's money sitting on the bench - diabolical mis-management. I thought I'd be reluctant to say this but now I'm sure of it. Warnock/Blackwell/Jepson must go in the summer and a new direction adopted by the club.
A missed opportunity for sure. The most frustrating thing is a inept Brighton are going to limp over the line doing nothing.
Hard lines lads. But at least next season (if not for some miracle) you'll have the local derbies to look forward to, and also games against Leeds!
I thought Brighton deserved to go down for their total lack of ambition away to Spurs, but you pretty much did exactly the same away to Fulham! Can't say I'm surprised, it's Warnock all over.
You beat me to it sparkey. Seems we battered them in the last 10 minutes. Surely, given their goals conceded record, they were there for the taking. Why have we continually kept this positive element under-used. Still love Warnock for what he's done for the club, but he should have had more belief in some players and their ability to have a go. Not sure if any of that made sense, but I guess you'll know what I mean.
Well it’s now quite simple. City need to beat Palace & MU and hope BHA lose their last 2 games Let’s be realistic City have just not scored enough goals. Not enough draws away from home. Too many ‘roll over and take it’ defeats. They just haven’t been good enough. Mega disappointing. It could have been so much better but its been a rollercoaster and lots of good moments and talking points. So it’s back to Tuesday 7.45pm’s and Saturday 3pm’s.
Thank fudge for that! The only reason I wanted us to survive was to prove the doubters wrong. Sadly it's very very unlikely to happen now unless we really do pull off a shock against Man United. However, I won't miss the Premier League, it's hype, it's plastic fans, it's snobbery, it's bias towards the so called "big" clubs and it's over inflated opinion of itself.
Yes at least we won’t have to suffer Man C, LFC etc just steamroller us. Nor as you infer the media belittling us and getting the brown sticky end of the stick on referees decisions Bring on Luton and Sheff Wednesday
Totally - Warnock did his job last season in a way that few can match. He got an unfancied side promoted to the Premier League at the expense of the Aston Villas, Middlesbroughs and Derbys of this world. The plain fact is that we needed to compete with more than just grunt up here - this is a different planet. It takes a degree of quality and class that we didn't bring into the club, nor it has to be said, possessed at management level either. Neil has tried to blag his way through the season in his own inimitable way and it hasn't worked. It may have been down to overtight purse strings or just plain bad judgement, but we brought Championship players in during the summer to play with Championship players who were already here - total cock up.
Agree sparkey, but even with the players we have I think we could have secured some more points by having a go at teams. It's almost as though we have to go behind before we play. We certainly missed a trick yesterday and had we started the second half like we ended it, I think we'd have strolled home. Hey ho, now for the dilemma; stick with NW to bring us back or go for a complete new ethos at the club with it's inherent risks? My guess is that loyalty, misplaced or not, will prevail and VT will stick with NW
