I have to agree with fieldmarshall. An error of judgement from McKenna.

Clarke consistently costs us goals and lacks awareness and concentration. It’s embarrassing.

Ladapo and Jackson can’t claim rustiness as an excuse.

I make allowances for the others.

But it could be damaging - Walton’s confidence must be shot to pieces after that, which is incredibly serious for us and it will have made Donacien and Burgess and maybe a few others more anxious.

We’d have challenged Fulham with a stronger team - even a smattering of key first team players - and having the buzz of a quarter final tie at Goodison would have only aided our promotion push.

Everyone is going to different opinions on this.
I used to be in the "play your best players in every game' camp, but, when your best 11 are playing week in week out, they do need a rest. Even professional athletes can't ne expected to go full throttle Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday....
I'm happy we had a minor cup run, and beat a prem team, but would prefer to have our best 11 in top form for Saturday

I agree with that but if you are forking out full price for a ticket then I would expect to see at least some first team players. If you are going to a west end play you might be unlucky to have the cover for the main role, but not the whole cast being changed out.

Redruth, I have never heard that comparison before! With respect, one cant compare the stage and a game of footie, except they are all performing!

I think it would be very naive to expect a full, if not strong 11 in a caraboa cup game in this day and age. 99% of the Ipswich supporters attending on Wednesday would've expected that.
No one complained about our starting 11 when we played wolves and had pretty much the same team out.

Sorry Gaffer, just sat in my van avoiding the rain whilst at work, couldn't think of another comparison.

I think FM would disagree with that.
Not trying to be antagonistic. Just my own thoughts.
