Speak for yourself! I'm interested in Bryan, and Rene's comments on his leaving suggest that it's not impossible he'll be back in a Fulham shirt next season. Personally I suspect he won't be, but until we know he's gone for good (and, actually, even after that, probably) I'm interested in how he does.

Ryan Willliams was out of Oxford's team tonight through injury, as they fought hard to get a 0-0 draw away to Exeter. The draw keeps the in a play off position, equal on points (46) with two other clubs familiar to us - Southend and Burton.

I see Daniel O'Reilly has joined Ryman League Division One South side Walton Casuals, where Tony Gale is chairman. Presumably he used his Fulham connections to get him.

    Here's this week's round-up (no Ruiz, Fulhaman, .. yet).

"Marcello Trotta scored his 11th goal of the season as Brentford drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Trotta put the table-topping Bees in front in the 68th minute. Handed a debatable penalty, Trotta hit both posts with his spot-kick but was on hand to fire home the rebound. The Shrews levelled in the dying moments through Tom Eaves to earn a point but Brentford stay top.

In the same division, Jack Grimmer played the full 90 minutes as Port Vale lost 3-2 at Gillingham. Adebayo Akinfenwa’s brace and a Cody McDonald strike put the hosts firmly in the ascendency. Vale ensured a frantic last few moments with two goals in the last 10 minutes by Chris Robertson and Jordan Hugill but Gillingham held on.

Stephen Arthurworrey and Tranmere Rovers rode their luck to earn a smash-and-grab 1-0 win at Milton Keynes Dons through Ryan Lowe’s stoppage-time strike. The result lifts Tranmere up to 17th.

In League Two, Marcus Bettinelli and Accrington Stanley saw their home game with Morecambe abandoned on 56 minutes because of a waterlogged pitch. Accrington sit in 17th."

Has anyone seen the goal? If it hit both posts (or even just one) and didn't touch another player, Trotta isn't allowed to play it until someone else does. Presumably the keeper got a touch somewhere along the way, otherwise it should have been disallowed. Obviously, all those childhood years doing 'You are the ref' in Shoot magazine have stayed with me.

More seriously, 11 goals this season? Haven't we been repeatedly told that he's rubbish? Doesn't sound too shabby to me. Not that I'm saying he could do it in the Premier League, but he doesn't sound like a player struggling to make the grade with Brentford.

Yeah Captain I saw it and honestly hadn't ever heard of that rule. I don't think anybody else got a touch although it's hard to see from the camera angle. It's possible the keeper got a touch but I don't think so.

Go to 1:20 for the penalty.

As for Trotta being rubbish/decent he did go a fair few games earlier in the season without scoring but he has been in very good form in recent weeks. He seems to be one of those players that will frustrate the life out of you because you know he's capable but he won't always show it.

Thanks for posting this FulhamIreland. The commentator says that the keeper 'did well to push that onto the post', so that must be the explanation. Like you I couldn't see it from the camera angle. There's no shame in the likes of you or I not knowing the rule, but if a professional ref had got that wrong, it would have been poor.

Criticism I've read read from Brentford fans is that Marcello doesn't put himself about very much. Exactly what I felt when watching him for our U21s and indeed posted a couple of times that he was pants but had the uncanny knack of being in the right place a the right time to score.

As Captain said, the big question is whether he'd be able to get enough goals at a higher level to deflect the other drawbacks? Got my doubts.

Stephen Arthurworrey's loan to Tranmere has been extended.

"The 19-year-old centre-back joined Rovers on loan on New Year's Day and has been an ever-present since.

"Stephen has done well since he has been here," Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore told the club's official website. He's only young so he's still learning the game but he's shown that he's a strong defender who is settling in well to League One football. I'd like to thank Fulham for letting Stephen stay with us and hopefully they'll see the benefits when he returns to them in the summer."

Is he jumping the gun a bit? The loan is only for another month or is that how these things work? Is there a deal in place that he stays for the rest of the season but can only sign for a month at a time?

How the lads, and Bryan, got on at the weekend:

"Marcus Bettinelli kept a clean sheet as Accrington Stanley earned a 0-0 draw at Wycombe Wanderers in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.

The draw leaves Stanley in 18th place, four points above the drop zone.

Jack Grimmer played the full 90 minutes as Port Vale let a 2-0 half-time lead slip to go down to a 3-2 defeat at home to Swindon Town in League One.

Doug Loft and Tom Pope put Vale in front but Nile Ranger reduced the deficit, before Alex Pritchard levelled the scores with a 25-yard free-kick. Nathan Byrne then bundled home the winner from Michael Smith's centre as Vale slip down to 10th.

In the same division, Stephen Arthurworrey and Tranmere Rovers went down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Preston North End.

Joe Garner nodded in a cross from Craig Davies to put North End in front but Rovers levelled when Ash Taylor finished from close range. Garner grabbed his second, though, to win it for Preston and the defeat leaves Tranmere in 17th - just two points above the relegation zone.

In the Netherlands, Bryan Ruiz returned from injury to help PSV Eindhoven defeat his former side FC Twente 3-2 on Saturday."

Top of the weekend roundup is.. Bryan.

"Bryan Ruiz scored his first goal for PSV Eindhoven as they secured a 2-1 home win against Heracles on Friday. Memphis Depay gave PSV an early lead, although Bryan Linssen equalised for the visitors three minutes before half-time. Ruiz was on hand, though, to power home a close-ranger header just past the hour mark to regain the lead for his side, and they held on to move up to fifth in the Eredivisie.

Back in the UK, Jack Grimmer helped Port Vale claim a clean sheet as their Sky Bet League One match at Shrewsbury Town finished goalless. The defender played 90 minutes in a scrappy game where there were only two attempts on target in total, but the point keeps Vale in contention for a Play-Off place – they currently sit six points behind Peterborough United who occupy the final spot.

Elsewhere in the division, Marcello Trotta played 74 minutes as Brentford extended their unbeaten league run to an incredible 19 games as they defeated Crewe Alexandra 3-1 at Gresty Road. Alan Judge opened the scoring early on with a fine curling strike from just inside the box, and he doubled the lead on 52 minutes with another excellent effort following a neat passing move that Trotta featured heavily in.

And Fulham’s Italian forward claimed an assist for the Bees’ third nine minutes later when he laid the ball off for Adam Forshaw who crashed home another superb goal for the West London side. A Chuks Aneke penalty gave the Alex fans a brief reason to cheer but Brentford were good value for the win and remain two points clear at the summit of League One.

Stephen Arthurworrey played the entirety of Tranmere Rovers’ 2-2 draw at Bristol City, with the visitors twice coming from behind to earn a valuable point. Sam Baldock’s cross-shot found the back of the net via the post with less than quarter of an hour played, but Rovers levelled shortly after through Jake Cassidy. Derek Williams restored the Robins’ lead on 78, but the advantage lasted less than two minutes as Jason Koumas fired home from 20 yards to move his side two points clear of the relegation zone.

In League Two on Friday, Marcus Bettinelli was in goal as Accrington Stanley squandered a two-goal lead to eventually lose 3-2 at home to Scunthorpe United. First-half goals from Lee Molyneux and Peter Murphy had put James Beattie’s side in control of the match, but United came out after the interval with a renewed vigour and were level before the hour mark courtesy of strikes from Sam Winnall and Hakeeb Adelakun. And a 90th-minute header by David Mirfin saw Scunthorpe nick the win to move level on points with Chesterfield at the top of the table, while Accrington occupy 19th spot.

The following day, Ryan Williams made his comeback from injury in Oxford United’s 3-0 win at home to Mansfield Town. The winger had missed the last four matches for the U’s with a knee injury but came on in the 78th minute of their comfortable win, by which point the result was already secured thanks to efforts from David Connolly, Nicky Wroe and Deane Smalley."

Three of the lads were out again last night -

"Jack Grimmer played 90 minutes on Tuesday night but Port Vale were left deflated after a stoppage time winner condemned them to a 1-0 defeat at Bradford City. Vale had defended valiantly throughout, although they needed goalkeeper Chris Neal to be on top form more than once, but left Valley Parade without any points courtesy of Carl McHugh’s header from a corner in time added on.

Micky Adams’ side are next in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday when they host Crewe Alexandra.

In League Two, Marcus Bettinelli kept his seventh clean sheet of the campaign as Accrington Stanley drew 0-0 with Bury. It was an outstanding performance by the on-loan Fulham stopper, who pulled off excellent saves from Anton Forrester, Craig Jones and Daniel Nardiello to earn his side a point.

The draw was even more valuable for Stanley considering they played for over an hour with 10 men following Lawrie Wilson’s dismissal for a foul on Jones. They now sit five points clear of the drop zone and are away at Torquay United at the weekend.

Elsewhere in the division, Ryan Williams continued his comeback from injury as a 58th minute replacement for Dave Kitson as Oxford United fell to a 3-2 defeat at Newport County. James Constable put the visitors ahead but Rene Howe equalised for the Welsh side on the stroke of half-time. Goals from Ryan Burge and Chris Zebroski then put County in control of the tie, although Alfie Potter’s late strike made for a nervy finale.

The U’s remain in the automatic promotion places despite the defeat, and travel to Morecombe on Saturday."

Marcello Trotta has been selected for Italy’s Under-21 squad for a training camp that will be held in Rome from Sunday, February 23, until Tuesday, February 25.

That camp will end with a training match. The squad will then represent Italy in a 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championships qualifier against Northern Ireland on Wednesday March 5.

Marcello will link up with Italy on Saturday March 1 for that qualifier.

Think Muamer Tankovic has also been called up for Sweden but can't find anything to confirm.

Is Tankovic's call up for the under 21s? Presumably it's a bit soon for him to join Kaca in the full squad. Good luck to him, either way. As I said in the McBride's Bar thread, me and my boys met him briefly at the signing this week, and he seemed like a really nice bloke. He made a big effort to engage with my youngest and draw him into conversation, rather than just signing stuff and getting it all over with. I liked him before, and I like him even more now. The same applies to Dan Burn.
