As said, the FA could do nothing about this. Their player was not approached. If every club was done for stating they would like x playing for them, nobody would be playing next week. Translation= Fulham know they aren't getting the Liverpool tax on Dempsey like everyone else did in the last 2 years and now they're butt sore because they'll have to sell him cheap. Well, if it turns out that way I'm glad we're doing the buggering this year rather than being buggered.
Do they really want to set another example that will dig them so deep? Look at how that turned out in the whole racism saga. If Liverpool get punished for something that was published on an independent website, what is stopping teams complaining when rumours start flaring up in papers?
Agree about the papers, but the fly in the ointment is that FSG own NESN and LFC so it could be a case of guilt by association. Btw, the Liverpool 'expert' on the NESN website Marcus Kwesi O'Mard has been ****ed off apparently for making the error.
I highly doubt the reporter was told by higher-ups the fabricate a story, only for them to take it down minutes later. Clearly an individual made a mistake and if he has been ****ed off, has paid for it.
And then the displeasure of having to swerve when someone from another club is guilty of the same thing, but still manage to worm their way through with little to no regard of the example they set.
They'll ban for Suarez for another 8 games and Slurguson will say he should never play again for Liverpool.
This whole situation was propagated and hyped up by the media. Yes someone made a mistake on the NESN website, immediately pulled when the error noticed and apology issued. Golden opportunity for the press to then print story after story re Dempsey with their get out of jail card being the web site error. The real agenda was to give more legs to the Carroll pontificating which we all know (so far) has come to nothing. They were desperate for a story around how much we lost on him after only 18 months. The very most we can be guilty of is being owned by the same company that owns NESN and as long as we didn't issue any communique we will be fine. The press may be arseholes but they can cover their own back on this one, though would be surprised if we were even charged. BR is probably finding being in charge of LFC a steep learning curve were media and FA relations are concerned.
Can't see anything happening with this. A report on a website which LFC havnothing to do with and a comment in which BR said "he's a terrifc player but i don't like talking about other clibs players". Fulham need to look at Dempsey more than anyone else to blame/

Neither our then manager nor Suarez himself apologised for anything bar the handshake incident. NOT for receiving an eight-game-ban for saying something seven times for which the only evidence was for once, for which Evra claimed originally was another (and provably lied about his own use of that word), about the number of times he was called that word and even changed his story as to when he was called it. So my mates may well find me a bore, but at least they're comfortably better informed than you are on this topic.
