Super Brian, I didn't say we were more of a community club. I said that the association between the club and the specific ground is stronger for Fulham than for most other clubs (Charlton are the only other side I can think of with a similar claim). Bandit, I don't think anyone is doubting your eligibility to comment on this - we've all got an equal voice in it, regardless of how far our connection with Fulham goes back. My point is that I don't agree that constantly making progress up the greasy pole towards being one of the top clubs is worth sacrificing everything else for. I'd love us to be competing with the top sides, becoming top six, then top four, then top two and so on, but I'd rather we didn't go there if the price we had to pay was leaving our lovely old Craven Cottage. To me it's an intrinsic part of our identity as a club. I recognise that many will see this differently to me, but I would prioritise and value our identity more highly than I would value winning trophies and competing on more equal terms with the big boys. Let's not sell our club's soul to chase a hollow dream.
Capt. I think you could also include Newcastle and St James Park, Portsmouth and Fratton Park, Everton and Goodison and Liverpool with Anfield. Although none of these have moved away and come back again as with Fulham and Charlton they are all clubs that mean a great deal within the community (although this may have something to do with being the only team in town for Newcastle and Portsmouth).
I don't fancy moving to SB but I can see both sides on this one. I love CC and would hate to leave. I can see we could do with increasing our capacity but can't ever see us attracting 40K fans. If we could increase CC to 30K and possibly a few more in years to come I think that would be enough. People talk about increasing the fan base but i think London is saturated with clubs. If we did have a bigger sugar daddy some along then i think that might change as it would attract plastic fans and younger fans getting into football. Personally I think investors would be more interested in clubs like Everton and Newcastle before us. I'd be happy to stay at CC, I didn't like Loftus Road and it made me appreciate CC more when we went back. That being said there are Arsenal fans out there who I'm sure felt the same about Highbury, City fans about Main Road. Football grounds have special associations. I've been to CC when I've been going through fantastic times in my life and fantastically bad times too. That's what makes it so special. CC is a very special place to be because of the memories not because of the stadium
Bandit that is a bit of a muppet thing to say. We sell out our home ends nearly every game its just away support that lets our gates down. Our ground is too small but if we had a modern stadium with better facilities a lot more fans would turn up. I am sure that if we stay in the prem as long as you have we could manage to get 25K. Funny thing is you knocking our gates is where were you all in the 80's and 90's? Better still, why do you have the worst away support in the division? I reckon its time for that Sunderland away picture to come out again!
Haha, it took a while for a dirty R to pop up here, not heard a peep since we smashed 6 past them. Fat lot of good their amazing away support (which it must be, the way he's talking) was then.
At least we have an away support? I still laugh at when i met a few of your fans in a service station (respect to them) and they were telling me you only had about 100 or so at an away game. Of course we won't fill SB and 41K.
If you ever get to be in the Premier for 10 years we'll see how many of your fans will travel in the thousands
Rangers couldn't even sell their allocation to Old Trafford for their first Prem match there in two decades, taking 1800 and sending 1200 back. Ellers says: 'We sell out our home ends nearly every game its just away support that lets our gates down.' Sometimes Rangers only give away fans half the Schools end (1000-1500k) and still barely get 15K. Do the math, so over 2k-3k home seats empty. Rangers could not sell out their first few home games in the Prem for 15 years even after Tony F dropped the prices. Even Chelsea at home went on general sale and they only got 15k for the FA cup game (and we sold out our end). 15195 Bolton (Bolton optioned and did not sell out half of the Schools End) 16211 Newcastle (Geordies optioned and sold out half of the Schools End) 16707 Villa (Villa optioned and sold out half of the Schools End) 16487 (blackburn optioned and did not sell out half of the Schools End) QPR's home and away support was the worst of any newly promoted side in the history of the Prem. Even Wigan average more
Well we travelled all over the country in the last 15 years in lower divisions so i don't see a problem in the Prem. As for the 'Jonny come Roman' (whatever he calls himself now) remember the 15k gates at Chelsea? probably don't and i shouln't really reply to his post as we all know he is just a WUM who knows nothing and don't go to games. Plus if you don't shut up i will post all those articals about Chelsea not selling out the semi final and fa cup final as well as the home champions league games where you had to beg talksport to sell the tickets. Back to debate. Fulham QPR Chelsea should all stay in their own area and never groundshare.
Not really he only picked 2 games that were on Sky and 2 of the worst away supported teams. Still as i have told him on many occasions under his many aliases, that i would rather have 16K gates then 30K foreign tourists and glory seekers that turn up at SB each week. sadly Chelsea is so plastic nowadays that when they do move grounds it will be made out of Lego.
LR already is. QPR: lowest average home gates in the history of the Premiership apart from Wimbledon. They rely on away fans to sell out their stadium. Worse crowds than Wigan When our attendances were at their lowest in the 80s we used to get around 20k v Qpr in the 80s, as we did not care about this game and QPR fans were too scared to turn out. But even then we always got 30k v Fulham as it is the main West London derby and Fulham brought a better following than Rangers. Chelsea Fulham is still our favourite festive fixture. And the away game is one I look forward to most ....after Spurs. Hoping for Boxing Day at home for the West London derby
Yeah Sure, just like all those games at SB full of empty seats from home fans. Was there when you played Arsenal a few years back and couldn't even fill the ground against them. You lot are all talk and full of tourists. But as i said you know nothing and are a new 'Roman fan' go and bore someone else with your utter rubbish. You used to come on the QPR board under a different name and we made you look a 'donut' then talking utter rubbish. New name same old muppet
ELLERS I don’t know you so I may be wrong… but you sound like a complete C0CK. Mouthing off to everyone, slagging off home fans, away fans, any fans... Take a listen to yourself. What you going to do…. Get out some photos of fans at games... maybe someone will get out those photos of your misses
Resorting to insults shows you have lost the argument as per usual... 6angers getting owned by Chelsea again! In fact, 6angers get owned and hit for six wherever they go in West London!!! Which Arsenal game was this btw? We are all interested to hear which Chelsea Arsenal game was not a sell out. I await your response... or is it more ELLERSlies as per usual

Look, it was my fault in the first place for stupidly replying to what was obviously a wind up post, but enough. Please let this thread just die or argue it out on another Forum.
Ok, we've established Ellers is a bit of a plonker now, could I kindly ask that we put a sock in it. I'm not that interested in attendance statistics. EDIT: C58 beat me to it!
Apologies Bidley. EllersLIES is very abusive when he gets rumbled. Looking forward to playing you next season and good luck with the stadium development
A key part of your attendances is the location, so you shouldn't move too far away IMO. I'll admit Craven Cottage is a much more attractive destination for an away fan than Loftus Road
