I agree with you. I was having a go at those who were spouting that Ayre could not negotiate as that was just stupid! I've been trying to rationalise the situation. The only answer that I can come up with is that Rodgers really does want to use all of his 'grace' period and is therefore not really interested in a top 6 place this season.
You could be right dave, the thing is when it's not BR's fault the **** storm should head towards Boston not Anfield.
Well I hate to say I told you all so I told you our spending power was now on a par with the bitters...and unfortunately its proved true. FSG are useless. Still all we get is lies lies lies either Brendans been used or he's as stupid as they are. Is it wise to gift players away before you have signed a replacement...no. Is it wise to decimate a squad that only got 8th last year? Is it wise to not back a manager you've just put in the job? No...unless he's just a yes man like H&G had with Woy. Wake up and smell the Kofi lads. We're skint and we need BR to perform a miracle.oh and kiss bye bye to the rest of our decent players in the next 12 months whether it be because they are simply fed up or because we need to "free up some more wages". Disgraceful efforts from FSGs wonderful new set up. Who's making excuses for them now eh??
Just over on Wiki reading up on FSG, finding out net worth etc, and read this (genuinely someone has added this to the FSG page) "2012 transfer window was when FSG lost all their ambition and also lost the support of all Liverpool supporters, hung their new manager out to dry with lack of funding." Some contributor isnt happy
Good news! @JamesPearceEcho: Pacheco loan move has fallen through. Looks like he will be staying. #LFC Or is it lol
Just at a loss for words, just can't believe we didn't try to get someone of class in a position we have desperately lacking! Let's hope Suarez finds that Ajax form, Borini that Roma form, Gerrard that 2005-09 form, etc.
Where is Ryan Babel? There are reports of him re-signing with Ajax but haven't found anything concrete so far. Maybe bring him back?
Nevermind. Concrete link found - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11906/8037930/Ajax-re-sign-Babel
I fully agree, but it does irk me that our manager wanted a player (who I personally didn't want) but we were not prepared to pay £6mill
Danny Wilson told he's surplus to requirements as well. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2012/08/31/nathan-eccleston-and-danny-wilson-to-leave-liverpool-fc-tonight-but-dani-pacheco-loan-deal-falls-through-100252-31741340/
The real interest in the Forbes piece is not the headline. That $1.5bn figure is based upon the particular circumstances that NYT find themselves in. A fire sale is after all a fire sale. As for the Wiki quote. Anybody can add to a Wiki profile - that's why it has to be treated with caution.
Oh whoopee do We haven't sold everyone No one's asking for them to go crazy with the money Baz but we've just had two months of getting totally bullshitted BR said he needed players and we all know that's the case...and yet here we are having had a fire sale at the club right in front of our very eyes . Be patient? I've been patient (unlike the owners who should have been patient three months ago) despite knowing these guys are ****ing useless I've been persuaded to remain calm and everything will be ok Then we go and loan out a guy we bought for 35 MILLION POUNDS. We sell Kuyt (world cup finalist two years ago), Maxi (former Argentina international), Adam, Aqua, loan out Spearing and Carroll (current England international who's only 22). We try and swap Hendo for Dempsey because we haven't got a pot to piss in....and we still end up not getting him after all that. Let's not forget the Mereiles money that came in and seems to have disappeared into the "FSG pot". Dirk and Maxi obviously saw what was coming pretty early on. Your sentence "we have got rid of players that made us a laughing stock" should read..."we've got rid of players and we're still a laughing stock" The players who got us to two cup finals really didn't make us as much of a laughing stock as you seem to believe. We've had a massive new kit deal and sponsorship deals with various companies, TV revenues have increased...has my season ticket price been reduced?....let me just check....oh no funnily enough it hasn't. Whilst their out whoring our name about to get themselves all these big fat contracts and plenty of dollars rolling in they seem to have conveniently forgotten any investment in the club whos name they are using. Where's the money going lads? Ps...It's not a question of not supporting those still in the squad...I will do that tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that as I have done my entire life. No doubt they will be as frustrated as I am. The difference is they will up and leave in 12 months (if not in Jan) and who can really blame them. Us fans...or customers as we are these days can't do that. We're in it for a lifetime and these ****ers sure know how to milk us eh.
Signs not looking too good eh billy :/ Yanks.... Just looking at the quality that Tottenham brought in, Swansea, QPR, Sunderland, Southampton, teams with nothing special on us that we could acutally use, it is frustrating. Infuriating actually. Worried that FSG have their hands, heads, and hearts in too many things right now, Red Sox are struggling and just made a crazy kind of deadline day trade as well ( check it out).
