Although, if Qatar does buy us since Klopp calls his style of play "Heavy Metal Football", we will then be playing "Heavy Metal Qatar". (Even though I'm not a fan of Qatari ownership, that might have to be my new name).

This transfer window has convinced me FSG should sell up and bugger off.

The team is in crisis and they've failed to do anything.

its patently obvious the senior leadership including ward knew what was up. ward has decided to jump ship before he even had a year on cv.

the club is rudderless but fsg are in full.on denial hoping to keep some stability prior to sale.

I don't think the sporting directors left because of the ownership. I think they left for other reasons ...

    Edwards maybe but ward?

you don't take a promotion like that and the exposure then instantly jump ship. he's assured that he will never get another similar job in future now.

10 years waiting for the big ticket and the opportunity to run a group how he wants it and he jumps?

I think we should consider signing three backup keepers to Allison in the summer.

Gakpo can play midfield and attack; the two areas people are claiming were high priority <laugh>

My guess is that Klopp and Ljinders now have far more influence over things like transfers, meaning that Edwards and also Ward's job became pointless.

To lose two sporting directors and the head of research, in very quick succession, tells me that there is an internal battle happening at the club - and it's one that Klopp / Ljinders have won.

Not sure he was even worth buying.

Didn't impress me at the WC and he's not exactly started well.
Sure he's come into a struggling team, but he's not creating chances or getting himself chances to score. At least with Nunez there are signs he could be a good player in the future. Gakpo looks out of place.

i sort of agree but he did create chances against Brighton .I just can't get over that his best position is out on the left the same as Diaz& Carvalho and arguably Nunez and Jota

I get the feeling Klopp wants to recreate the Salah/Firmino/Mane combo but with a new generation. Which is why Gakpo is being tried down the middle.

Replacing Salah and Mane should be fairly easy, lots of wide forwards out there. Problem is Firmino, he's an odd type of striker.

Frankly we're overloaded with strikers (despite injuries) and Gakpo in the short term looks a bit of a waste, when we need other things first.

yep thats what i don't get while we may have had some out injuredthe front line was one place we were well stocked since both Carvalho are ( much ) more forward players than MF never mind the obvious first choice forwards .

Yeah, he's been here 34 days and not pulled up a single tree yet. Utterly disgraceful and a complete waste of money....

We should only ever sign establish world superstars, that's always been the Liverpool way afterall :emoticon-0147-emo:

Wait till we visit Goodison with him, that's the only pitch in bad enough condition that trees are growing on it.

5 games and not a single tree is the point and hasn't even been close to one yet either

Must have missed the part where I said he didn't impress me in the WC either.

I don't think he's the right player for us and didn't before we signed him

For every Suarez there's a Kezman, for every Van Nistelrooy there's a Alfonso Alves. Never quite sure with the Dutch league.

And you must have missed the "We should only ever sign establish world superstars, that's always been the Liverpool way afterall" part of my post :)

I could give you a big list of players we've signed that most of us went are off or impressed by prior to us signing them. None come much bigger than Mo Salah, he was a Chelsea reject playing in a **** Serie A

Salah pretty much hit the ground running.

He quickly removed any Chelsea reject tag straight away.
