Fruit

Me too, until it started messing up my liver so stopped taking it. Liver recovered.

I've had two gout attacks in my life. In my case it is genetics not diet, I naturally have a high level of uric acid. (I'm full of piss).

My first gout attack Dr. Thought it was a fracture in toe bone. Second one... Holy mother of Rupert the bear that was bad.

I couldn't put a sock on because it hurt. Even sitting under a ceiling fan and the movement of air on my foot was excruciating.

Two and half years since last attack... 2 years since got off that nasty allopurinol that was destroying my liver.

I find it strange Fruit sets off @luvgonzo gout. A lot of fruit is used as a natural remedy against gout, such as cherries and pineapples.

Alcohol, shell fish, refined sugars and red meats are a far more common trigger... But every one is different.

Like I said , bad attack in both ankles at the same time . Pain was indescribable . If you’ve never experienced it , I hope you never do .

For people that don’t know , Its crystals in the joints .....

I remember trying cherries as a cure, couldn't walk for a week.<laugh>

Probably because washed each cherry down with beer. <whistle>

Studies have shown 10 cherries a day cuts risk in half of gout attack... Which is pretty darn impressive for a natural cure.

... I ate a lot of cherries for a while ... Until I got tired of eating cherries.

I had to test the alcohol thing properly so stopped drinking for a while and tried healthy eating and all the natural cures. It had no effect at all and some of those healthy options were part of the cause of my attacks.
From what I've read people can have different triggers with gout and there's still a lot of gaps in the knowledge and medication because of it not being a priority.
The one thing I've found that has lowered my attacks other than avoiding certain foods is drinking plenty of water.

Yeah, I always have high levels of uric acid in my blood, but I've suspected peanuts might have contributed to mine. I had eaten a lot of peanuts before both attacks.
