Why have we got the slowest, biggest strikers ever!?

I've seen a tortoise move faster, even @alwaysright could move out the traps quicker than Oliver. Then to put him alongside Samuel, what's going on?

At least when we had Bayo (who I actually did see run once), we had the free scoring Cody, who would run rings round our current two, quality striker (just don't tell pegleg).

It's only Jordan Graham saving our necks.

could be worse - we could have JET in the side.... didn't grumpygit compare him to a bag of cement ?.....
In a more serious reply -- there was no effort to stop the keeper and Keogh playing with each other at goal kicks- nor to stop the keeper walking 40 to 50 yards up the pitch -- on one occasion he almost reached the centre circle !..... actually - there was just ONE time when we tried to stop his nonsense - and he made a pigs ear of his clearance - I believe it went to Oliver ( or was it Samuel ) - who could have scored into an empty net ( albeit from 50 yards ) -- Do our players not see the trouble that defences have these days when they try to play fancy stuff at goalkicks ?

Jackson has an immense throw, and Graham constantly delivers balls into the box, yet despite having two enormous strikers, they couldn't make a decent connection between them yesterday.

It's as you have highlighted, their goalkeeper yesterday was taking the p, not once did we pounce on it with any effectiveness, I was thinking, do we need to bring back Jake Hessy to show them how it's done?

I noted your jovial comment in the other thread, concerning @grumpygit bag of cement, but two consecutive games now, I've mentioned our strikers can't move. Trouble is we got spoilt with Eaves, who would cover every blade of grass to get the ball.

I'm not suggesting big strikers don't work, Bayo would prove what can be achieved, but it seems pointless Graham making his runs/crosses, when the big men are somewhere, but I'm not quite sure where.

Have you noticed that the opposition will have 6 players in our box when attacking, we have 2 on most occasions unless it's a set piece.
We need the midfield to push up, even when Oliver wins the header there's no one to get the second ball.

I'm struggling to understand what has changed from say the earlier games, where the throw-ins by Jackson and the corners from Graham were actually a threat. I think we even commented on it at the time, its not been since the days of Edinburgh or when Barcham was causing havoc on the wings, that we had built a solid threat. We were applauding Samuel and Oliver, but something has changed. Was it because Mellis was missing yesterday, yet we had Dempsey who put in a good shift. It's just like no one was in the box, I really don't want to be going back to the days of put one up Taylor, that scarred me for life.
