It wasn't all in one situation, and yes I am being a bit harsh but I found it frustrating during the game.

Still don't get this Cole hating. Its not his fault the club made a bum deal for a player who had obviously lost his way a Chelsea!
He's improving and that's the important thing, he could make the difference this year with just a few good games or good finishes. After all Gerrard has been way below par for the last two seasons but he doesn't get anywhere near the abuse of Cole, because we know when it comes to the crunch his experience will count. Ok we bought Cole at the wrong time, but now we just have to make the best use of him we can and for me BR is doing that. This jan we need to concentrate on getting some players in not moving them on, and I think Cole has more to offer this season than Suso who will no doubt be a player for the future.

Joe Cole has been poor since he arrived and has literally added nothing to the team. His performance in the EL was encouraging, and whilst he scored a very good goal against West Ham, his overall performance in that match was very poor.

I feel that Cole will only be a squad player at best - £90k a week for a squad player is far too much and I'm sure he will be gone in January.

However, I admire Joe's enthusiasm and professionalism - has never complained and has always maintained that he is willing to work hard and fight for his place.

Regarding your comparison with Suso, I disagree. I feel Suso adds far more than Joe - Suso's touch, control, passing and overall creativity is at a higher level IMO.

  6. Gerrard still contributes to the attacks though, it is his laziness when defending that is the issue so he is not a complete waste of a starting place. Most of the time Cole contributes nothing. However, I think the fact he got a standing ovation after his recent good performance against young Boys (I think?) shows that the fans are willing to praise him if he deserves it.

Of course you are right to say the deal the club made is not Cole's fault but that is not why he gets stick! Same goes for Stewart Downing!
