Blade Runner - I've never seen the original, only the director's cut. I've asked what was different about the original and all folk said was that there was a talkover bit at the end. The director's cut worked for me, man.
essentially the original gives you a sort of talk-over internal monologue for harrison fords character....so once Id already seen that it was impossible to imagine the film without all the information that talk-over gave you. I met harrison ford in amsterdam years back ; me and my mates chatted to this american guy regularly where we hung out - he had a stunning resemblance to harrison ford but always denied thats who he was...strangely he took all our ribbing about star wars/the force blah , blah , blah very well but fell out with us when one of my mates said The Mosquito Coast was a pile of ****e. A few years later I read about Fords divorce being to do with his trips away to amsterdam for some heavy shagging. and now before any of you ****s say it please log in to view this image
Heard they had to do the voiceover/inner monologue as Yanks where to thick to understand the film! Supposedly, Harrison Ford was raging (and with the ending!!)
I used to prefer the Original version but the Ultimate cut is now my favourite, I, trainspotter that I am, have the snazzy briefcase set with 3d cards, a model of Deckart's flying car, silver unicorn and 5 (count em) different versions of the movie.
That's on the "Dangerous Days" documentary, he hated the voiceover so much he went out of his way to do it as badly as possible.
