We'll never forget that he betrayed Arsenal though. Forever a tainted player, whatever happens.

    Chelsea fan in peace

Can I be fully disgusted on your behalf? After you nurtured him through countless seasons of injuries and did the right thing by him, he does this to his club.

Why are people so surprised ?
Yesterday I read that Joey Barton, yes that low life thug, he thinks that footballers need to learn some humility and can take a lesson from the British Olympians.
You couldn't make it up, I almost choked on my coffee when I read that....

Why would Wenger have offered van Persie a contract before last season? He hadn't shown he could be this good so it would have been a needless risk to offer him a new one.

Let's face it - RVP was always going to leave but to go to United is just despicable. Truly.

He has completely tarnished everything he has ever done here. He can go and win trophies in other countries. United are growing older and older, they're not even guaranteed to win anything. Hell, if he went to PSG or some other mercenary foreign team like Anzi, I'd have been alright with that.

I don't attribute any blame to Wenger or the board. RVP has forced their hand and disgraced himself. In the Olympics thread I wrote about how football was pissing me off. How I'd become disillusioned and started to doubt why I even cared for the game so much. This is a further example of how utterly farcical this sport has become in the top leagues.

betting odds dont mean nothing .

What odds would we have got that Man U WOULDNT win the EPL last year or that Man u wouldnt even get out of the group stages of the CL .

If we got off to a flying start and you and city didnt , watch those odds change.

Bookies always keep their powder dry until the fat lady is nearly singing.
Not when a club buys 3 players.

    The opinion of experts ?

This is football , those experts get egg on their faces week in week out with their predictions.
I wont take too much notice of them .

BTW , have the odds for manu "bounced " since the deal was confirmed ?

I suspect the bookies will give it a while and see how a few games pan out.

I love it when people refer to betting and make no sense - I do it for a living and haven't heard anyone in the game refer to 'betting odds' this side of old Liberty herself.
Man Utd were 9/4 this morning and can still be backed at 9/4.
And not sure what 'betting odds' have to do with fans debating player loyalty.
RVP is not the first £20m+ player Utd have bought, some have been a success and others have failed, I'm guessing he'd be the latter and I'd love to see the 'betting odds' on him not being at the club in 3 years time....

Swansea fan in peace lads. Absolutely gutted for you, I can't believe after all the time he's been with you RVP now decides to crap on you from a great height. For what it's worth life goes on and no one player is bigger than any one club, especially a club of Arsenal's stature. Great club that plays great football and I wish you every success this season.

Thanks mate, I think all of the football world (apart from mancs and spuds) recognise that RVP is a massive shyster who shafted Arsenal and will forever be known as a disloyal money grabber.

Same bookies that have paid out odds on winners when they have then lost.

Man Citeh are still far stronger then you guys. RVP (the money grabing ****) won't help that. If he wanted trophies he'd have gone to to citeh or Juve. ManU have no midfield and have money issues. How was the share issue?

Can't argue with that. If this is any consolation too, during a pathetic performance from our national team tonight at least Aaron Ramsey shone out and looked a class act. He looks like he'll hit the ground running for you saturday.
