"Spending £100 milion ,how did that go ?"

Zero net transfer spend, 7 pts behind the Goons.
Annual net revenues of 120m more than Spurs, 7 pts ahead.

I think we can see how that has gone. :D

How can we be lining the board's pockets when they take nothing out of the club ?

"Instead of that, you're lining your board and manager's pockets and trying to lord something like this over us."

The board ain't though. They take sod-all in remuneration.
They just like celebrating winning the PL cash balance Cup.

For all the WUMmery we inflict upon the Mousers, they do at least have something to
show for their two years additional (not debt-servicing) net spend over Spurs. They
currently have improved their PL points difference over Spurs by *25 POINTS* in LESS
    THAN ONE SEASON.

This is simply untrue in most cases, especially those of Gazidis and Friar. I'm sure that you know that, though.

So somebody becoming the first non-football employee of a club to earn in excess of £1m pa isn't lining his pockets, then?
I'm struggling to see what you'd say is, in that case.
The share price has absolutely rocketed, too.

You're focusing on one part of what I said and ignoring the rest, anyway.
Arsenal have enough money, pay their players enough money and pay the manager more than enough money to challenge for trophies every season.
You simply haven't done that anywhere near consistently enough.

I'll say it again, as you don't seem to have noticed it.
Sherwood has gained more points during his time at Spurs than Wenger has over the same period.

First, congratulations to Arsenal for finishing above us again.

Not PC enough and SOS have a good point about it being perfectly legitimate banter.

About as well as you'd expect when we also brought in a bit more than a 100 million. Just out of idle curiosity, if you sold your entire starting 11 and brought in a new 11 with the money, would you expect a massive improvement because you spent a lot of money?

How'd the race for the league go after you finally managed not only to hold on to your best players, but to shell out big money for the star who would put you over the top?

mmm , thats far from accurate , in my case anyway , its just marking a fact .

Its mildly amusing for a few hours then its forgotten.

To say we are " going mad about it " is overplaying it.

    by miles.

The share price had rocketed because Usmanov buys any that become available. Most people would say Arsenal shares are vastly overpriced.
As a CEO of a multi million pound business I think it's fair to say Gazidis is paid the going rate. One of the jobs he was bought in to do was increase commercial revenues for the club. This is something he seems to be doing very well.
Sherwood may well have gained more points than Wenger but we're in the FA Cup final and 4th in the league.Congratulations on Tim Sherwood being your most successful manager of the PL era(his words not mine)

What's truly ridiculous, IMO, is the idea that a team that spends 100 million and takes in a little more should improve massively. I can't figure out if people who keep quoting the "spent 100 million" line are executing a truly inept wind up, don't know that we took in a little more than we spent, or are mathematically challenged. I was hoping to find out more from your answer. But fair enough to keep me wondering, if you prefer...

There is gross spend and net spend.
The former is fact. The latter is a sign of financial housekeeping.

I am still waiting to be told how a club that has 120m quid NET more than Spurs
each season in their pocket, is only 7 PL points better off to the bargain ...

It wasn't specifically aimed at you.

Your fans at the Emirates broke their vow of silence to sing about it, the players have been celebrating it like a cup win as have most of your fans. Arsenal, as a club, have got very overexcited about it.

"Arsenal, as a club, have got very overexcited about it."

In their defence, it has been their most frequent adrenalin rush since 2005.

I'm not surprised to see you agreeing with your fellow Goon, but he's clearly indulging in standard Arsenal delusional behaviour. Poor bloke.
Perhaps if Wenger blows the FA Cup Final like he did the League Cup against Birmingham he could take over at the Emirates?

I decade of being either 3rd or 4th would be frustrating for fans of lesser clubs than Arsenal. Perpetual groundhog day for supposed title challengers must be soul destroying.
