I think you do him a dis-service, not unreasonable given recent history. But has said on camera a number of times that he wanted to see the colour of the money of prospective owners. In short, he wanted to see that they had sufficient funds to meet his asking price & had funds to invest & take the club forward. Difficult I know, but we have to take him at his word occasionally. If he was just bothered about the asking price, I think he would have sold up some while ago. Believe what you like, but only time will tell.
ITN NEWS It looks as if there is still some way to go before the takeover of Leeds United is completed. Last night a deal looked imminent when it was reported that an agreement had finally been reached between Leeds and Bahrain-based investment bank GFH Capital. But today it's emerged that talks are still ongoing, and - when quizzed about the situation this morning - manager Neil Warnock was downbeat about the prospects of an early resolution.
'kin 'ell. What now? Just when I was about to celebrate the return for Ross for a 1 minute cameo on Sunday where he scores the winning goal after we learn two miutes earier that the T/O deal has now been signed sealed & delivered, you have to go & screw things up by sticking facts in the way of the truth. Boo hoo!!! That said, there surely can't be too much more to do.
The pantomime season really has come early this year. How gullible have we supporters become? How many more times are we going to be told that the deal will be done "in the next few days"? It's happened umpteen times already and nowt's come of it. It's like Groundhog Day being a Leeds supporter. The T/O will (or won't) happen in its own time. No amount of speculation will bring it forward. I wish the rumour mongers would give it a rest. It's doin' my 'ead in !!
Maybe there is a glimmer, even if just a small one, that this particular takeover is not to be for a reason. GFH struggling for cash, surely Leeds United deserve better. It is perhaps too late in the day to save this season now with a decent injection of cash, which doesn't appear to be forthcoming. Who knows what other decent investors are being delayed in targeting a Leeds takeover by the continuing extension of the exclusivity clause. Its like someone owes you money and they keep coming up with another reason to delay payment. Enough is enough, 6 months + is pathetic.
