Heyho Jock, the truth is now out.

Moving on, I see Nunez is likely to start. Do we think Paynter will get a go as well in order to show Warnock whether he has a future at ER? Apparently Warnock was impressed with his cameo role last week. So stranger things have happened. We know Becchio & Ross will be here next season all things being equal. So probably worth looking at Paynter again. Result doesn't really matter. But a good performance & any sort of win would be nice.

    LOL

Not sure what Paynter did to impress. I was most certainly not impressed. I watched him running (or was it ambling?) round in circles but never reaching an opponent to tackle. Every pass seemed to go sweetly - to the opposition! He had zero shots or headers on target (sorry for stats, Josh <whistle>). I could go on, but it's clear to me & all around that I have a problem with him. Perhaps someone less blinkered could point out what his positive contribution was?

Having said that, we have paid him loads of wages and we should guard this investment by making sure we haven't missed something before we get rid of him. I and others have been too quick to write him off, but to be honest, he's not had a decent chance in the Championship. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he should be the first name on the teamsheet for the rest of the season. He should be assessed in a first team environment by NW. He surely can't be as bad as Fossil.

Jock, I think you missed a T off can in the final line above. Sooner or later Paynter will show someone why he was L1 leading goal scorer with over 20 goals in one season. Torres is still strugling for Chelskea. But he's getting there slowly. And I agree, Paynter needs to start in these next 5 games to confirm whether or not he has a future at Leeds. If he can't do anything, then so be it. Our strikeforce will be Ross, Beccs, Somma (after he's gone on loan to prove his fitness), & A N Other.

When will he look then? Blackpool away? Cardiff away? doubt it. This on paper is the easiest of the remaining games. The 1st team are **** anyway.
