Carruthers is CM lots of skill 19 plays for Villa looks like Nasri and he is class Collins is a strong CB played for Ipswich at beginning of year and then played for West Ham on loan from Stoke (scored against us at elland road) Butterfield was arguably the best player ive seen at elland road this season dictated the game and won the game for Barnsley got snapped by micheal brown who put him out for the season in January
Got my wish, finished the morning stretch of meetings and came back to the fantastic news about Pearce, on a 4 year deal as well! That's really good for the club, and I hope we press on with getting some more quality in. I agree totally kissa, Collins would be a brilliant signing as well.
Sammy Clingan, Tal Ben Haim, Kuszczak/Joe Lewis, Koren, Hammil, Lansbury, McGugan, Michael Johnson, Southern,Hoyte, Phillips are a few I would be looking at
Have some family in peterborough so I've seen them play a few times - Lewis is the most overrated keeper in the country. I'd keep Lonergan myself. Seems to have all the problems our keepers develop already - good shot stopper, absolutely no control of his 6 yard box, hesitates to collect aerial balls and for a big guy, seems to have no strength whatsoever. Much prefer Lonergan, or bring in a keeper better than both of them
Why do people suddenly want to sign Diouf? Would wreck team morale and nowhere near good enough to take the risk on. Paul Green is useless as well, Derby fans are delighted to see the back of him, if he's lined up as Clayton's replacement I'll be even more worried.
Some of my family are Derby county season ticket holders,so I've asked them about Green and they've said when played in the right position he's good. Diouf is a tw@ of the highest level. But as a player in championship level he'd be quality, plus I'd trust Neil to contain him.
And there's always fans who are delighted to see the backs of players but love them whilst there. When Howson left, people were saying he wasn't good enough, same with Johnson,Beckford and some have even said Clayton isn't good enough now he's been listed. If Paul Green signed a new contract I bet Derby fans would be loving him
He's not what we need. If we were looking for back-up to increase strength in depth he would be fine, but he's a distinct step down from Clayton, he's basically a right sided Danny Pugh. Diouf is probably the worst signing we could possibly make, anyone else would at least not play and do nothing if they were ****e, Diouf will actively hurt our chances whether he's playing or not.
Im with you on the Diouf front Simon, I'd be really disappointed to have him sign. Yes, maybe Warnock is strong enough to restrain his ego/personality, but we shouldn't have to. He's a good player, but I really don't think he is worth the risk, there are plenty of players out there with the same level of ability but without all of the baggage.
Luke Steele is a class keeper Alex Smithies would be good enough as back up Would anyone like Rob Hulse back?
You joking, after some of the comments he made? He'll hate us for life after his little conspiracy theory outburst. An attacking choice of Becchio, McCormack, Diouf, Ambrose/Koren and Snodgrass would be brilliant by the way. I'd like another striker, but preferably not someone aged like Hulse or Phillips. I know they've still got the goods, but we need to think of the future. If we're getting someone older, get them at GK/RB/CB/CM where they can be most effective as a leader.
What's with people's obsession with Ambrose too? Does nothing other than score the odd worldy every 20th game.
