    I think you're gripe is peeps putting them in to preserve them longer.

    Thats silly. But I have em with salads and I like my salad stuff cold.

    If you're making chilli, add a squirt to that, gives a bit of sweetness.

    This is in fact the only thing I use the gunk for. My kids have it on chips but it's ****ing vile in my opinion.

    I like to add a little maple syrup to chilli for the sweetness balance (not a lot needed) ... it adds a bit to the smokeyness too ... if also using smoked paprika (pimento) and smoked dried chipotles ... which I tend to.
