Hi guys just in from the daily grind.my take on the swuad and spending is why should we put up with loans and cheap gambles. Lets take Alioski for example ...i like the lad hes a trier but he aint super fast. As a team we are pulling together but we are playing lower teams just like our last good run. Thousands of footballers in this world and we cant find two or three nearing the end of their contracts ?. Give the fans a present tads and get some class in this side we are bare bones.
I know fudge all about football but sit through all the "football on five" managers' post match interviews. To be honest they ALL regurgitate the same old pap. To expect someone speaking a second language to do better is simply unfair and unrealistic. (IMHO) Edit: Mind you most of them are speaking a second language!
I think if Don Revie had had to give a TV interview after every game it would have been fairly boring too. Since every utterance is dissected and pored over with a magnifying glass to spot things which aren't there, every manager will be quite careful what he says - a formulaic approach for most depending on the outcome of any particular game. Course the exception which proves the rule is one M. McCarthy, Esquire. He's Leeds United, he don't give a ****.
That’s why we need characters back in the game like Cloughie, Shankly, Redknapp not like all the boring twats we have now, but I see your point.
Yes I just watched some of that, they were played off the park by a poor PNE side, loved seeing Warnocks face at the end haha
Means we'll be wanting Wolves to beat Bristol City then? If we win our game, we'd be 2 points off autos - that would really make Radz think hard about 1 or 2 quality additions if he's not already.
Being pedantic, it would still be 3 if Chippys lot win but, yes, a Wolves win sets us fair as long as we do our job. One win away from the top two and the window about to open, what could anyone moan about?
Absolutely, my bad. As you say, what could anyone (of a glass half empty disposition) possibly find to moan about?
Will revisit the Wallies tickets in a few days. Not on sale yet but three definite yes’ so will grab some. Make travel plans with certainty, I read the other day Sky give 5 weeks notice of any changes so definitely happening. I will see if I can get some with a bit of atmosphere but it may have to be near one of the oldies (Chesh or WJ) but at least the pub is the same for all of us (don’t let LCW convince you the Pavillion is a good idea, it isn’t - unless you get all of the beer tokens and can buy a round for £0.48 ) Big couple of days coming up, come on Leeds
Brilliant Marcos, really looking forward to meeting up with you and some more of the other veterans. I'm quite happy to be guided re hostelries.
You misunderstand, it is not some more of the other veterans, they are veterans, I just try to keep them young.
Disagree (would you expect anything less? ). I'd prefer a draw, then both lose 2 points. I take the longer term view that we don't know if Wolves will sustain their run. Same with Bristol. So I'd rather go evens than pick a winner that might pip us by those 2 points at the end of the season. Not even sure if that makes sense, but I know what I mean.
Any chance we might read your views on all TC's good points, as you see'em? I think what Infidel was getting at is TC seems to say the same things over and over again despite how we play, and, he's not the only one to mention it on here. One of TC's repetitive comments is "I'm happy with the performance and the way we played" when a blind man can see when we play badly or ugly. You can put it along side Redders "if I'm being honest" which he very rarely was, but said the same thing over and over again.
Buying from L1, L2, non leagues etc is a big risk despite how many goals they score. Having said that, Beckford came from non league and Becchio came from a comparative low league, and they both flourished for us. Roofe came from L2, he hasn't set our team on fire with his goals, but he has his on and off days which make him inconsistent, if he's played regular in the strike position he could become more consistent, but at this moment in time I can't see it. The Peterboro striker may well need 3 to 5 games to bed in, which we can't afford, he may also hit ground running for first 2 games then become a Roofe, no one knows. I agree Doc, too much of a risk.....
