Agree about Heat as well, I don't see anything in it whatsoever.

Lucky number Slevin was a funny one, pretty clever story, pretty well made but what the **** were pretty boy hartnet and wooden face lie doing in it?

TWOWS, I thought it was alright but it was big, loud, bright and daft and my god was it overhyped. In a year containing Rush, 12 years a slave, Dallas Buyers Club and others it fell short for me.

Regardless of taste or whether it was good or not, it wasn't Scorsese, dark, clever and brutal.

Hartnett was an odd one to cast, I enjoyed the film though.

12 years a slave was also very good, but it smelled a bit too much of an oscar-chaser for me.

Of the films I've watched this year Snowpiercer was the most surprising film, in a good way, probably because I never expected it to be even half decent.

Nah it was good, as you say, Kingsley and Freeman were monumental. Both utterly cool as ****.

Kingsley will never outdo sexy beast kingsley mind.

Massively an oscar chaser, hugely political. Problem was they had a rival who tried less hard and did it far better in dallas.

I was like that with The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.
The DVD sat on my shelf for months.
When I finally watched it I nearly put the telly through the wall.
Brilliant film but not easy to watch.

Mentioned to you before, watch True Detective, what he actually won the Oscar for in my eyes. He was great in DBC but TD is the best bit of cinema/tv ever made in my eyes.

I concur. True detective was a masterpiece. I've read somewhere they are writing the script for the 2nd series now but with different actors.

I only watched that recently as well mate, went to Auschwitz in February then developed a mini-obsession with all things related to the labour camps. Getting my mrs to watch Schindlers List with me was a personal achievement for me this year, she only likes chick flicks!

The film was good, it hits home when you find out the guy who's peeling potatoes is a doctor.

Scarface is untouchable, I love that film.

I am Sam is a real tear jerker you're right, but only because that guy is such a good actor, Sean Penn is it? What a performance, making me well up just thinking about him in it.

For me, films don't usually pull at my heartstrings like that, it was an exception, and Warrior had my crying like a little girl as well, I never expected that going to see that with my brother all manly, let's go watch a fookin fight film and have a curry and some beers. Yeah right!

I much prefer Carlito's way. Him and De Palma toned it down a bit and Sean Penn made his bones in it for me.

Scarface I really dislike with a passion and I try to put stuff down to different tastes when I can but when people label it a classic I can't help but die a little inside.

The band looked a bit odd, each to their own though that's why I started the thread. I've never heard or seen of them before!

Gilmour girls... that's probably on in my house sometimes, I don't pay attention to half the stuff she watches, although she did have a quality one on the other day the Mob Wives reality thing, they're some thick skinned bitches on there, wouldn't mess with them.
