Worth keeping your eye on a few from that race... Prospect ran well, even Flycorn ran a big race... Good race that one...

Perhaps not visually taking but look how 'tender' Robbie is on STF on the run in. He was expecting him to bolt up the hill but he didn't! A much better horse than the result suggests.

Toppy I think the best horse has won today but I expect Prospect Wells to keep improving he jumped well most the way but had a few mistakes in there as well. Steps To Freedom was always cruising and jumps very neatly. Faster pace would have suited both the front two. I expect to see the front two at the festival for sure and maybe the 3rd

In a awful race next at Longfield, I like the look of King's Colour who seems well in on previous form and 11/1 looks to big with this field. Small stakes.

I think so RV, though I have to say Prospect Wells has ran an absolute blinder. Clearly a horse with a future in this sphere. I thought STF was beat 100 yards out.

Twice now we've seen Steps To Freedom crusing but forced into a sprint for the line. There are obviously going to be some big players for the Supreme lurking around somewhere, but Steps To Freedom is a big talent and jumped pretty accurately for the most part, bar the last. Regardless, it is good for both horses to taste Cheltenham and that will help them in the long-run, should they be aimed at the festival <ok>

Hope Cue Card is okay, have to say he didn't at all look comfortable jumping early on and I felt there was always a mistake there.

Barring one guessy jump, Grands Crus was excellent. Beautiful horse.

The lay record has gone, but thankfully as we lay pretty short prices, we stay at +6.25 profit from 9 bets.

Toppy he is the biggest hype horse since Dunguib. I don't get why people think he is a "superstar" I just haven't said much in the past as I don't want to upset his fans on here by having a go. He has beat nothing at all since his bumper days. Thrashed off the good horses every time he meets them. Can't jump either. Slow and with a rubbish trainer as well. All just my opinion.

The lay record has been very good so far btw keep up the good works hard lines today <ok>

Cue Card is short of the elite RV, but I was excited to watch his progress over fences as he goes up in trip. Joe Tizzard is a bit of a nightmare though as he doesn't seem to settle him very well, and he needs to if he is to be a good chaser. The difference in jumping between him and Silviniano Conti was unbelievable at Chepstow. They should definitely stick to 2 and a half miles though rather than go down in trip, and be patient with him.

Yeah, first one beat today but that's why I keep to laying horses prominent in the market, as you have less exposure. It's been really interesting expermienting with it, and you can see why the bookies have things stacked much more inj their favour- Menorah/Cue Card/Captain Chris all beaten after they took money ar 8/13, 6/4 (out to 7/4), and 9/4.

If I could make +£6.75 from every 9 £1 bets, I'd be doing alright!

Interesting to see where we stand after 20-30 bets.

    Toppy fair points mate <ok>

and yes keep it up and we will see how you are getting on at a later stage. I would be looking at Hinterland tomorrow if I was laying- good form and a big rep but the Hendo horse was a listed winner on the flat in France as well as listed over hurdles (Mcmanus purchase) and recieves 7lbs from Hintelrand. Wonder which will start fav

    Orafinitis 14/1 – I’m taking Betfair SP

As many of you know I’ve been following Desmond McDonogh’s 3 year old since debut as well as many other horses from that race as it has proved to be very strong including Misty for Me, Katla and Why. After a lot of poor efforts after debut, Orafinitis showed the promise witnessed on debut as she won her first race after a 7 month absence by 1L off a mark of 56. She certainly won with a bit in hand after getting bumped leaving the stalls and coming very wide to win going away. The handicapper raised her 8lbs a result of that win and I certainly think she is capable of winning off a mark of this level.

The form of her winning race hasn’t worked out too badly at all. The 2nd El Toreros has put in a couple of decent efforts off 2lb and 3lb higher marks. Measured Approval the 5th that day has subsequently came out and won next time out by 1.75L and the 7th Golden Starlet went down by a short 2nd NTO. Further to this, Painted Fingers the 9th, who was 7.25L behind Orafinitis, has won off a mark 1lb lower mark since. This form demonstrates it wasn’t a terrible maiden she won against fellow 3 year olds but she disappointed on her next start, and although I really should have known that with the trainers son Declan jumping off to ride what turned out to be the winner, I stuck to my guns and was disappointed.

Orafinitis made her 3rd last start 1 month after her win back in June and I was disappointed. She had a good racing position throughout and would have had every opportunity if good enough but she didn’t find much when asked for an effort and the jockey Sam James eased her right down about 1f out when it was clear she had no chance of making the frame. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t quite disappointed and I don’t really have any excuses. It appears that she ran into quite a few nice types that day such as Spin of A Coin and Ted Dolly who have being performing very well and are now 10lb and 15lb higher respectively.

2 starts Orafinitis put in an ok effort on heavy ground to finish 4.25L behind Darasal Wane in 5th. She had to come very wide on perhaps ground that was not as quick as where the others raced but that cant be confirmed so its merely a presumption. Orafinitis would probably have finished a length closer to the winner but McDonogh eased his mount when he knew he wasn’t going to quite make the frame.Further to this, Orafinitis did shape as she needed that reappearance run after a 3 month break, although there is definitely a concern in my mind that this may no be true as her win came after a long break.

LTO she disappointed in a big way at Navan over a mile on soft ground off a mark of 62 in the middle of October. However, it is pretty clear to me that she isn’t at her best on ground too soft, with her trainer Desmond McDonogh stating after her win "It's lovely ground out there and it seemed to make all the difference." Tonight she makes her AW debut and she’s dropped back to a mark of 57, only 1lb higher than her sole career success. She’s quite a well bred filly out of a half sister to Group 1 winning Cavalaryman and I think her trainer is pretty surprised she isn’t a better horse than she’s show to date. Kevin Manning is a very interesting jockey booking and I think the 14/1 currently available is much too big, but I’m taking betfair SP as she won’t be supported (wasn’t for her win) and she should be a much bigger price. She doesn’t have the best stall in 11 but she doesn’t she likes to come from towards the back so I amn’t too concerned. Although its theres a big question mark about her ability to go on the AW I am utterly convinced she’s a much better horse than a mark of 57, which her breeding also suggests. She does have to bounce back from a couple of poor efforts but even if she’s only up to in and around this mark she’s only 1lb higher than her last winning mark where I think she had a few lbs in hand. Not huge stakes for me but if taking to the surface and putting her best foot forward she should go very close tonight.

    I completely agree RV.

Farmer Tizzard needs to shut it and let the horse do the talking, because so far its been all mouth and no trouser. The horse consistantly comes up short at the top level and clearly is not the superstar everyone thinks or thought after his bumper win.

I hope people are starting to catch on with regards the cheltenham bumper winner and the uncalled for hype that seems to surround them, haven't heard anyone calling Cheltenian the next superstar after his win.
