Husker Du,to me,are a band that have some great songs but are quite often nothing special.Ambiguous springs to mind...I still like them, just seems strange that the drummer wrote most of the best tracks....(in my view)

Wish time machines were real - would love to go back to the punk era and experience it - Born in the late 80s, growing up in the 90s - other than Blur and Oasis everything on the radio (and in the playground) was crap like Boyzone and the Spice Girls.

I was lucky I spent a fair amount of time with my uncle who played the likes of The Sex Pistols, Guns N'Roses and Queen all the time. While everyone at school loved cheesy pop, my favourite song was My Sharona by The Knack.

Here are a few that aren't 70s or 80s punk bands:

Try being born in the 90s and growing up in the 00s, guarantee it was a lot worse. The only bands I can remember getting near the top for a while who I enjoyed were The Killers and Arctic Monkeys, that's about it.

This isn't exactly punk, but they've just played a surprise set on the pyramid at Glastonbury, and it were ace.

Both of The Libertines albums were produced by Mick Jones, that's good enough for me on here.

The punk/hardcore scene in Hull was amazing in the early/mid 2000's, you should have got yourself off the internet and to some shows.

I didn't realise you were that young, in that case you have had a pretty ****ty music scene to grow up to!

Freaks Union are heading a stage at the Humber Street Sesh as part of their 10 year reunion, if your going it would be well worth checking them out.

im a 70s child and feel pretty blessed to have been able to walk down Hessle road , pass Teddy boys , Rockers , Punks and the groovy prog rock set , by the early 80s there was a massive mish-mash of clothing trends born from music ,added to the above list as - Casuals , Mod revival , B-Boy , Rude Boy and New Wave that it was never to be repeated .

I disagree. Suede were on BBC Four and were class.

I watched Kanye for about 4 seconds before realising what the **** I was doing. Genius my ****ing arse.

Apparently he tried to sing Bohemian Rhapsody and royally cocked it up.

Oh, and someone invaded Kanye's stage, which, considering he likes to do that to others, was a nice bit of poetic justice for the ****.
