Dave Lombardo from Slayer for me. He set the tone for metal drummers in general with his speed and fills. I saw him in 2004 play a couple of songs with Metallica when Lars took ill and Battery was so heavy. It made Metallica's drums audible for a change.
Agree with every word!! I don't rate ringo generally but, on a day in the life he's awesome!mreckon they must've had some good gear before that session!!
Nathan Followill, and I don't like drummers, hate drum solos. Drumbo and Ed Marimba are about my limit.
Steve Smith or Jeff Porcaro are two of my all time favourites but would probably just be beaten by a smaller known drummer called Micky Barker who did some amazing stuff with Magnum...some great names in the thread though
