Wood was great for us - we offered WBA £1M - They accepted.
Leicester offered the same, but instead of the £8k per week we offered, they offered him £24k (he wouldn't take the drop to £18k per week that Wolves offered)
Scored 10 goals in his first 8 games for them, but then only scored 2 goals in his last 40!!
Big gamble to pay them wages!!

 

In regards to Woods I do fear he is not prolific enough for the kind of money and wages being mentioned although at 23 you would hope he is approaching his best years.

I guess the reality is we are not going to sign an established and prolific goal machine for 2.5m
