Good Luck <ok>

I think I tipped MARY ELEANOR on debut recently and I am going in strongly again for the Newbury bumper tomorrow. I don't think the 3/1 will be around for too long.
Head scratching this one i have to go to a good clients house tomorrow and her names Mary and her daughters called Eleanor. It could be a sign !
Good luck

Well what do they go like?

Lingfield 15.40. Here is a horse I want to see ridden tenderly and finish unplaced. Why? Because tomorrow he is top rated by Timeform but all his best form is on turf. A run down the field might give him a decent chance in a turf handicap later. His last 4 runs have been on the AW and it didn't look as though he was being ridden to win last time out. His form on turf has been at a higher level, running well at G2/3 level against the likes of The Wow Signal, Astaire, Ivawood. His best form has been over 5/6 fur on turf but he's been running over 7f on the AW. 3 wins from 7 on turf and 0 wins from 5 on the AW. I'm hoping his run tomorrow will prompt me to note him for a Cl 2 Handicap on turf over 6f

Newbury 3.15 Plaisir D'amour 6/4 with Bet365 and BV. Could well start odds on

Got to say it, Stick, my old love. Mary Eleanor what a lovely name for a mare. But have you abandoned the detailed form study and the breeding analysis and instead opt to operate like the rest of us?!? Picking the one with the most loveliest name?!?

Meanwhile, do any of us have ‘clients’ anymore. Seem to recall it was one of the words on Harriet Harperson’s ‘no-no’ list. Surely these days its customer’s and that most dreaded and pointless of monikers – ‘stakeholders’!

Imagine a bumper runner who was bred like a mongrel and 100/1 but was called "Ken Barlow" - would the Bumper King dare select it? Never mind Trump and his tweets, these are the real questions which have the nation holding its collective breath.

Not beyond the realms of possibility that we could get a ‘Ken Barlow’ on the racetrack. The dam of one of my fave horses, Nigel, is, of course, monikered Deirdre so maybe the name her next offspring could be the most famous resident of number 1 Coronation Street.

A few other residents of said Street have had horses named after them. The likes of Emily Bishop, Sally Webster and Betty Turpin.

If it were bred like a mongrel it would be summarily discarded. Shame on you for thinking I may even consider it.
What I have been considering is posting a list of my criteria so when I retire you can all sort the conundrums out for yourselves.

Have you seen the pics of Deidre and her frankel foal?

No. But you’ve got to put them up, old boy. I wasn’t even aware that Deirdre, how shall I put this diplomatically…had been ummmmmmmmm ‘visited’ by the great horse. Cor blimey, surely the above mentioned ‘Ken Barlow’ has to be the little chaps moniker.

Excellent, old boy. Thank you. Wonderful, wonderful pic. His lineage would suggest stamina but he looks a proper speedster in that pic!

As the family is littered with male Christian names (Samuel, Duncan, Nigel, for instance) I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility they will go for Ken this time around…

Absolutely fantastic ride by Aidan Coleman there on Plasir D'Amour at Newbury. Superb looking in real trouble at one point.
