Tell me about it Boris....doh. This forum is a jinx for me right now, three bets today so far, two nice winners at Donny and the one I put on here that lost! I hate being superstitious!
afternoon all, this was from last night so the odds might not be up to date. i see some of you have also picked stow, one of mine below. i can't read the rest of the thread yet in case some results are out and i haven't seen the race! 2:05 NBY dynaste 1/2 is the obvious favourite having beaten fingal bay and alsio been in top company. question is how testing is the ground really after today. i've gone for court in motion 9/2 who wins and places on hvy/sft over longer distances, 2nd in the betting. 2:40 NBY in search of a consistent placing 3 miler used to soft/hvy ground the first one was stow 12/1 and shortening. plus duke of monmouth, also 12/1 shortening, who won november 7th over 25 sft beating iron chancellor. i passed over ballybough pat for distance reasons. lundy sky 16/1 drifting was a possibility, 2nd to star du granits recently over 24 sft. but i've gone for stow purely for its consistency over 24f in softer ground which it would seem to slightly prefer, although sometimes misses the placings. 2:45 THU hvy popmurphy 15/2 and shortening, places (just) over 2m hvy/sft, ridden my andrew macnamara. plus shesonlyahorse (the name always makes me more fond of her) has better credentials on this ground than popmurphy, and is ridden by andrew lynch. those are my picks, although dont tell pa 3/1 has won on this ground three times recently and beaten shesonlyahorse but the odds are too short for ew, and shortening. g'luck all today
Info from Honeyball yard today is that they think BALLYBOUGH PAT will win and HELLS SPIRIT to run a place at bid odds...dont shoot the messenger
Good luck with Ballybough. I prefer the look of Destroyer Deployed as an each way 8/1 bet. He's the best of these in bumpers and showed some promise over hurdles LTO and I'd expect them to win off this mark sooner rather than later.
I almost replied to my own statement saying, just got back by helicopter, knowing full well what was coming. It is diabolical how they wait ten minutes before racing.
Lundy Sky was on my long list in the 2.40 against Ballybough who i had 2nd top rated. If i was forced i would have sided with the latter. GL anyway
Newbury tomorrow Nass? Only up the road if you can swim out of your village. Shockingly I think it is the first time that I will have seen BIG BUCKS in the flesh!
Kit-kat and a brew...... Saving myself for tonight taking my better half out for a meal tonight... If the meal dosnt fill me then maybe the bottle of red and the cheese board will come the end of the night...
Would love to but I am off to the wifes xmas do, free bar and all that. Luckily I managed to move from Malmesbury before all of it went down!
Ballybough Pat does look on a very good mark in my eyes but my concern is he may struggle against more battle hardened rivals. I did think Jim Old's Counting House looked interesting as well, especially with his trainer hitting a purple patch. Dreading watching Double Dash run now because if he is fit, which the money suggests, then I feel he has the potential to saunter to victory. I will not be a fan of George Baker if he does.
Musselburgh was a total **** up! i'm only 20 mins from the track and was up at 6.30 this morning for the car temp gauge to read -5.5..First class idiots.
