Deffo not strong fancies but the 2 that stand out for me would be:

5.30 Elamirr. Was a nice winner on his 3rd start, back in December, and an opening mark of 81 looks more than fair for his handicap bow. Very nicely bred as well as his dam won the 1,000 Guineas.

6.35 Eeh Bah Gum. The old boy was a 5 time winner last term and arguably he ran his best ever race last time when beaten just 0.75 l in the ‘Dash’ at Epsom on Derby Day. Didn’t have the clearest of passages that day either. Runs off the same perch as at Epsom (88) and that looks exploitable here. Also, the current quote of 15/2 looks more than fair.

Have a good time.

With the hope that the step up in distance will bring about further improvement I fancy Glance in the 7.05 at around 4/1
Not far off top rated as things stand and apparently middle-distance winners in her pedigree (I'm no great student of breeding) the additional 2f may well see her improve past the Stoute fav

Autretot 4/1, 7.40. I've no connection to this horse but a good mate of mine has. He's told me they're definitely trying to win tonight. Down in grade is a positive and a third lto to Archie Perkins who has won since and is now 11lb higher reads well. First time on all weather a possible negative but I reckon this one needs a bit more give than it got LTO so maybe will suit. Enjoy your evening. Sorry in advance to SBC as I know this cloak and dagger third/fourth hand info riles the ol boy! <laugh>

At Newcastle [6.35] I think this old boy could run well

afternoon,mates!

cartmel,1 50:WINDING ROE ran well up to a point last time out,and his yard has a very good strike rate here.so he shouldnt be long in winning one of these..

I did Copper Knight at Newcastle. He was shuffled back after being impeded in the Epsom Dash but was finishing well before being unable to get a clear run and was eased when it was clear the race had gone. Landed the same race last season and should go close this evening.

At the Curragh I like Albigna in the Group 2 Airlie Stud. Peace Charter has twice finished ahead of the Albany runner up Celtic Beauty and although the performance of that filly at Royal Ascot suggests that O'Brien's Etoile would have gone very close in the Albany, the overall form of Peace Charter's races has not worked out. Ickworth steps up a furlong after failing to come out of the stalls in the Queen Mary but you wouldn't want to be backing her in case she does that again. Tango didn't seem to like the ground last time and could bounce back but Jessie Harrington's Albigna beat her narrowly last time and could well improve here. Albigna's winning debut has seen four fillies winning since and the trainer has supplemented her for tonight's race. A daughter of Zoffany, David Lanigan's Polybius has been her dam's best progeny so far and I feel any improvement will make her the one to beat this afternoon.

6.35 Newcastle Copper Knight 9/2

4.15 Curragh Albigna 4/1

cartmel,2 55:

SQUOATEUR surely isnt one for the mortgage, but,on his best form,he d have a big shout today.also interesting, that this combo does quite well together regularly, and he might be also revived by this unique track.

cartmel,3 30:

EVER SO MUCH falls into the same bracket as squoateur,as hes very hard to win with, but he showed some signs, that he might come back into form last time out at southwell, and the form is working out quite well.,so if the mood takes him, cant be left out of calculations today,at least e w..

Foolad is a big sprint specialist , for a horse that acts so well at southwell it’s surprising he also acts as well on turf and good to firm , i’m sure tapeta won’t be an issue , has wide draw though , most winners seem to come down the middle at gisforth ?

newcastle,6 35:

this is fiercely competitive, and none can be ruled out with confidence,so MOONRAKER is a very tentative choice, but i think, hes a bit overpriced, for what hes already achieved this season.if you put a line through his last run,hes pretty consistent, and his win two starts back has been boosted in great style,as the second that day, ornate, has won the epsom "dash" this season.but,as i say all along, these sprinters meet umpteen times in a season, and you get a different result every time.thats why i keep it small here, just a little e w dabble.
