5.15 Southwell-Carpathian

Looks a work in progress

Each Way...opened up @ 10-1

Third-fav (8/1) for the Arkle, Mister Policemen, goes in the 12.55 at Fairyhouse today. He might well be very good but 4/11 on chase debut on heavy ground with 10 opponents? Not for me.

Mister Policeman gets up to see off his stable companion Feu Du Bresil close home but Feu Du Bresil was the one who really caught the eye - what an absolute monster of a horse! Will no doubt be up in trip soon enough as he obviously isn't a 2 mile speedster.

Mister Policeman pushed out to 16/1 in places for the Arkle after a rather lacklustre victory but to be fair it was his first run over fences and the ground was very testing. The runner-up much more interesting as a future chasing star though.

Funny how we see things, I thought the second was a right old rascal and carried his head really high when asked for his effort. The one that interested me the most was the third, who could well be a 2 mile handicapper to follow.

That's because you know a lot more about watching horses than I do. I was just impressed by the size of him (as Benny Hill said in The Italian Job: "I like em big" <laugh>)
