Good Luck <ok>

Goodwood 2:50 Great Fun 5/1. The unknown of the race, but he beat a couple of useful horses at Wetherby and can only see more progress to come. He's up against older and more experienced horses here but he's still the one that sticks out.

Haydock 3:05 Scalzo 5/1. I watched the race he won at Doncaster at the start of the month and was very impressed with how easily it looked. Obviously this is a much harder race but, the same as I said about Great Fun, really think there could be more progress to come.

CAIGEMDAR 14/1 Haydock 3:05 - was doing her best work towards the finish LTO at Chester and that's not the place you want to be playing catch up. Haydock should suit better with a nice uphill stamina test and she can go well at a price.

Best of luck to all.

There are two or three that look like short-priced bankers at Haydock but I will not touch any of them. Most of the field in the 4:15 are lightly raced but the one that makes most appeal is in-form Ed Walker’s Azamour filly GOODNIGHTSUZY, although only to modest stakes in a poor looking race.

Just seven face the starter for the Cocked Hat Stakes (Goodwood 4:00) but three of them could have a significant impact on the Derby betting. Storm The Stars chased home Hans Holbein in the Chester Vase on soft ground, so a decent performance by him may influence the latter’s odds; and he is held in high regard. Medrano was half a length behind in third. Prince Gagarin was well beaten behind Not So Sleepy at Chester in the small field that contested the Dee Stakes. Mr Singh should give John Gosden a good line on how good the others are as he steps up from his maiden victory but the one to be on is BEST OF TIMES, for whom the course is no problem although his penalty for winning the Newmarket Stakes might make life tough.

Since Bluesky9 did so well taking a punt on 40/1 Lady Of Dubai for the Oaks, I might have a little on Best Of Times at 33/1 for the Derby and then wait for them to opt for the Prix Du Jockey Club instead.

1625 Bath Oriental Grace 10/3
1700 Bath Eastern Magic 9/2
1710 Good Zaretto 9/2
1720 Hay Daisy Boy 13/2

Whilst I still think that Best Of Times will win at Goodwood, I now find that the 9/4 that was widely available on the internet last night is now a best priced 13/8 in any of the local bookies so I will just be having a small interest ante post for the Derby and hoping he wins well and does not get re-routed to France now that Godolphin own a controlling interest in Jack Hobbs.

Mr Singh looks a potential St Leger option for Gosden later in the year.

However, I am siding with maiden GREAT GLEN 9/1, who has ran with considerable promise both starts, will enjoy the trip and has enough pace to avoid tactical trouble. A trainer who does not tilt at windmills.

Roayh (3/1) going again tonight 1830.Backed it yesterday when it was a massive disappointment, sticking with it today.
Can't run that bad again.........can it?

2.00 Haydock

Life Less Ordinary won under hands and heels last time out at Windsor, and is 5/4 favourite. Paul Hanagan has ridden the winner of this race for the last three years - he rides Bletchley Park, trained by Richard Fahey. This will be his first handicap. Drifting in the betting, he's now 8/1. But I've got to back him each way!

Absolutely Bolted up Fabio <cheers>

Two of the three short-priced good things have already been turned over at Haydock (2:00 and 3:05) so the bookies just want the 5:20 for the hat-trick...

A smart ride by Pat Cosgrave on Storm The Stars in the Cocked Hat at Goodwood. Set all the sections that were good for his mount whilst Best Of Times clearly was not good enough, even taking into account the three pounds he was giving the winner. Having done Best Of Times at 33/1 each way for the Derby, I lost on the race as he will not be going to Epsom.

Goodnightsuzy made it a Friday to forget at Haydock, opening favourite, going for a walk and then walking back! The two that would not go in the stalls should be sent straight to the supermarket lasagne factory. Then Get Knotted dispensed with Connor Beasley close home, so now he knows why it has that name. If only they still had ‘What Happens Next’ on “Question of Sport”...

Fabulous stuff again Fabio. Read your post after I posted a selection in the same race, knew my horse had run its race then! Purple patch you are in, good work.

Well done Badger, on a going day also.

Thanks guys, again I'm pleased to get home from work and see another winner on the board <ok>

Had a look at the evening meetings and got a couple that are sticking out at me.

Musselburgh 7:40 Bowson Fred 5/2. Looks to have come back from a break in good form, had a very good run at York last week, wasn't beat by much. Also has a C&D win to his name which I like. The jockey takes off 7lbs which could prove very valuable in a close race.

Pontefract 8:00 Yeeoow 4/1. He's a favourite of mine, even if I've never had much return from him! Seems a hard horse to win with. He did have some decent runs through the winter on the A/W though, and in better races than this. Hasn't won in two years but I like the form from his last race, wasn't far behind Out Do, who then came out again and won a decent race at York last week. A similar run could take this race.

Dundalk 7.05-Michaels Missile each way 12/1.
Great shout again fabio, really impressive tipping lately, keep it up mlad

Well done Fabio desperately unlucky not to land the double <cheers>
