Managed to get one of my patents in today. Only a very modest stake, but a profit on the day, so can't complain
Wasn’t on as it was supposedly merely a ‘prep’ for, his next run, the new Chester Cup consolation race – don’t know what they will call it but the new heat for horses balloted out of the above race. ‘Silver’ Chester Cup if you like. Coeur De Lion did go mighty close though, at Newbury, and won’t incur any additional weight (even though his perch will inevitable rise) for his next run as the weights have already closed. After Chester, incidentally, he will then be off to the ‘Horses In Training Sale’ – condition of the syndicate which ends the middle of next month. Alan King, by the way, thinks he could win both big handicaps – Coeur De Lion in the ‘Silver’ and Mr Ponsonby’s Who Dares Wins (the motto of the Ponsonby family) in the actual ‘Chester Cup’ itself.
