oddy 7 pints turobo shandy a winner at chelts and spend it all in the blue lounge in the town later that day,,,,,,,that beats running up hils mate feels like heaven to me
Dan I was talking about proximity mate I once had an afternoon in Sydney that sounded a bit like that mate. Spent several hours in the bar betting on the horses on the TAB (Aussie tote, has betting windows in many pubs, which means you can sit in the pub, watch the racing and have a bet - how fecking clever is that?). Won several hundred dollars and spent an enjoyable hour in Tiffanys before going to a fancy restaurant for an "Australian Platter" - something like crocodile, emu, kangaroo, wallaby, all washed down with lashings of red wine.
Perhaps carronhills off a cliff but still wouldn't bother me I don't like Free World let me down too many times
Can't imagine he would've been involved at the top table anyways. Time to do the decent thing and retire him
Afternoon, everyone. Hope all is well. Lovely, and I do mean lovely, cards at Newbury and Ayr today. After some of the poor fixtures of late they are both a joy to behold. Anyway, I will nominate: Indian Trail (3.20 Ayr) – my regular readers were ebullient last week when I nominated this one each-way at 22/1 and he duly obliged by placing. Would recommend a similar wager here as Indian Trail proved on that occasion that he is in good heart and far from being a ‘back number’. Was surprised to see the old boy dropped 2 pounds to 80 after his run at Doncaster and off such a perch will I think go close. 16/1 is too big a price. Harvard N Yale (3.45 Newbury) – decent contest which in previous renewals has seen some classy horses feature. Could Harvard N Yale be the next of these??? On debut Jeremy Noseda’s colt found only the smart Ektihaam too good. This was followed by a competent victory at Newmarket as he stayed on strongly over today’s distance. Also entered in the Royal Lodge and Racing Post Trophy Harvard N Yale can capture this heat before stepping up to run in those Group races. Beacon Lodge (5.30 Newbury) – Clive Cox’s horse has run very well to be placed in his last 5 events but down slightly in class he can score for the first time since his debut run this season. Has been placed of late behind Dubawi Gold, Excelebration and Strong Suit and as he meets nothing of that calibre today Beacon Lodge should oblige this afternoon. It was great, by the way, to hear Mr Cox on with that legend of the airwaves ‘Big’ Alan Brazil earlier this morning. Meanwhile, it’s good to see that dear old Amy Ryan has decent rides in the Ayr Gold and Silver Cups tomorrow. I think she has strong claims in both heats. Happy punting and good luck to all.
Yep and its a very tentative selection once again. Deffo a minimum stakes job on the old boy. If he's on his 'A game' though still has the potential to go close. For the second time in just over a week to my eye those bookie chappies have again overpriced Indian Trail.
I will never forgive him for what he did at Goodwood the year after he did the double (if I recall right) when he came on the bridle to win and then found absolutely nothing. He is a talent, but a frustrating one at that. Opposite to the other old timer you adore so much.
I'm only putting up the one horse today i've waited for this one so major punt for me Scottish Lake EW 5.40 Ayr......any opinions on chances welcome...
Hello lads. Tricky stuff today and nothing takes my eye...interesting info for Dank though. Also fascinating to see how Dubai Prince gets on today, hugely impressive last year and oodles of potential. The same applies to Harvard n Yale in the HHC Conditions race. Rain on the way to Ayr...could make things interesting for tomorrow's sprints in particular. More importantly,I'm defo gonna try this turbo shandy coctail on Sunday.Sounds like a great potion for healing the woes of a Saturday night whilst watching ATR. GL all.
Nass: I do believe Indian Trail holds the course record for the dash at Epsom, i remember that day very well
Ok... Talked myself into parting company with a few beer tokens in order to get some more back... Well it is the weekend you know...!!! 3.20 - Sleepy Blue @ 16/1 3.55 - Laylas Hero @ 8/1 5.05 - Put d'Arnac @ 5/1 Not looked elsewhere but i may have a go as the day passes us by... Good luck to all who play today...
Have no opinion re the Bronze Cup this afternoon so I won’t be betting in it. But tomorrow’s ‘Cup’ races give the potential in my opinion for huge returns from minimal outlay. Might be stating the bloomin' obvious but doubles and Exactas could bring about monumental returns if you are correct.
Dexter - The turbo shandy is a lethal cocktail of sweet amber nectar until it leashes its potency on you... Proper headache material...
AMPHORA 2.00 Newbury 15-2 E.W This looks a weak maiden on paper with Swing It the current 5-2 fav after running 9th of 13 on debut, he may be capable of better but at the prices I like the look of AMPHORA I backed this one on debut when she finished last over Course & Distance on debut, however she showed plenty of improvement last time out and should do better with that run under her belt. She should pick up a weak maiden in time and this looks a good chance - hopefully she will run a place at least. I fear Fourth Of June from the newcomers
Hows it going guys, few bets for me today. 2.10A - Star City 2.35N - Elraabeya 2.45A - Trumpet Voluntarily 3.45N - Oscun Singles, a yankee and an e/w accumulator
