Michael Stoute seems to be suggesting Snow Sky is not fit enough to win today - nice that what with all those gallops around Newmarket. If trainers can nowadays be able to bring horses to compete in the Group 1 guineas without a prep run there really is no reason a horse should be brought to the races anything other than ready to win if good enough.

The remark that caused this reflection was when asked if he would be able to get closer or beat Romsdal he remarked along the lines of I would think so later but possibly not today. This sounds like he has brought her for a spin to bring on her fitness, I wouldn't actually mind this but some of us have placed bets this morning before being made aware of the trainers intentions within the race.

I'll get my coat.

Although to be fair no one would have had a penny on after watching the interview.

Not living in the U.K. guess I'm missing something, but what have so many of you got against one Michael Owen? Has he screwed you all with bad tips or something?

SBC, Ekbalco, et al, please clarify.

7.05 Aintree. VIRGILIO 13-8. Won easily on Saturday and due to go up 20 lbs (yes, that's TWENTY pounds!). Not much else to say apart from odds against seems like it won't last.

Won well and won a nice wad but due to get up a stone and a half???? Surprised it didn't win by 20 lengths.
