Seriously, have you ever been in there for the festival. Best view of the course either at the top of the grandstand or next to the winning line. You can walk down to the rail at the front and watch them go round in front of you with a bing screen in front of you as they go out in the country for another circuit the thunder of hooves, the jockeys chatting or shouTing in some cases. Then stroll over to the winning line and get a birds eye view as they jump the last where all the photographers are up past the line and you’re right next to the winner when they walk round doing the post race interviews and you see them walk back down the shoot as they wave to the adoring crowds.and you don’t have to queue for half an hour for a drink or the toilet. Or you could for the privilege of eighty odd quid stand in a spot all day surrounded by pissheads pretending to be racing fans shovelling coke up their hooter moaning when they’ve done all their dough on another fave that just got beat chucking beer everywhere. The only downside is you don’t get to see the parade ring and the roar when the winner comes in.
No more touts at Cheltenham. They’ve clamped right down. Still a couple outside the course but you take the risk of buying fakes. Plenty of them around.
It’s simply not the best view on the racecourse, I’ve been in that stand and it’s nowhere near the best view on the racecourse.
Nothing is value for money at Cheltenham. I would say that if you were to choose between tatts and best mate then I’d struggle to pay more for tatts. Club is better, the facilities are better and space is more available if you don’t want to get completely crowded. If I didn’t have membership I’d struggle to have the enthusiasm to pay the prices as they are now. It’s such bad value all around
