Today has been a back to reality day after a good start.
Well done Coneygree - quite exquisite round of jumping for a novice an excellent work by the connections <applause>

Apologies for those who don't want Mr Nicholls up their arses - I was a bit happy as you may guess. Lumpy ap bet paid off, now I need to go lie down :)

Right lets get them up there bright and early.

1.30 JCB Triumph PAIN AU CHOCOLATE 20/1

His defeat of Devilment has stood up well and his subsequent Sandown win has seen Saint James run an absolute blinder in the Fred Winter. He stays well and that is usually a big factor in the Triumph hurdle- they should go a decent clip one would think.

2.40 Albert Bartlett FLETCHERS FLYER 20/1

Was so impressed by the way this horse jumped and travelled at Haydock that I simply couldn't afford to miss it on spring ground at Cheltenham. His jumping should stand him in really good stead and can conserve energy in what should be a race with plenty of pace (Blacklion & Black Hercules in particular).

If it does get set up for a closer, Out Sam has a lot of class and a turn of foot, so look out for a patient Barry Geraghty ride.

03322 - Smad Place's high class Cheltenham form is interesting. He ran a blinder in the RSA last season, will be much-improved for the ground, and will get a proper pace to aim at. Winning might just be out of the question, but I am certain he can place in this field and Kings horses have run well.

3.20 CONEYGREE 10/1

Take out Silviniaco Conti and you have a seriously closely matched bunch of chasers. It is screaming for something unexposed to go to a level above them and Coneygree has to be taken seriously. It is only his novice status that makes his price so big. He jumps superbly, and we know he stays. I think the extra trip will bring further improvement because everything he has ever done has screamed stamina.

His defeat of Houblons Des Obeaux reads better than Many Clouds too and I think he can do it. It would cap a great weeks racing.

Amazing performance.

Savea my festival! Incredible jumping.

Unreal run from a novice that! Reward for the brave decision there big style. Happy with my 2 running behind him too. Sickbag Conti, he just doesn't get up the hill.

Delighted for connections of Coneygree, could see how much it meant to connections (especially Lady Oaksey). Pleased to see a small stable winning the Gold Cup, the brave decision they made to run a novice paid dividends. What a race it will be in next season's Gold Cup if Don Poli and Coneygree turn up in top form! My money would be on Coneygree as he's only been beaten once in his career.

Right the foxhunters is one of the few races I've not done antepost lol

CARSONTOWN BOY 12/1. Hopefully another one for the small man :)

Ok I've calmed down a bit now - although I AM a bit excited by the pending end of the competition :D

Salsify for me, all in, on the nose, second place is the first loser, and all the other cliches :)

But I still can't better Oddy's comp total <ok>

Spooky Reebs, I'm on Salsify too here but only for small stuff. Too much excitement <yikes> I've had to open a beer. Well done on your Coneygree ante post.
