The Group 1 UK Arabian Derby is run at 4.45. Paul Hanaghan and Neil Callan are amongst the riders. Furthermore, you can bet on the heat should you so wish so I can't see why almost all the media (both print and internet) have opted to totally excluded it as if it wasn't happening!

Nothing for me today but surely MIJHAAR will finally oblige in a big handicap tomorrow, won’t he, people??? His 3rd, last time behind Gatewood at Royal Ascot looks very classy and he gets to run off the same mark tomorrow. The ‘John’s Smith’s Cup’ at York looks his for the taking, methinks.

Afternoon all good people - cracking afternoon of racing ahead - hope to get off to a flier from pricewise and Tartiflette !!! Good luck everyone and lets get some cash in for the weekend. Golden Lilac (saver on Maybe) is my banker for today - any horse that beats CDA deserves to be favourite for a race like this against her own sex - looks a shoe in to me !!!

My bets today - could get expensive:

Mullins Treble - Dare to Doubt and the bumpers'
    Sendmylovetorose
    Margot Did each way
    Troopingthecolour
Richard Hughes Lucky 31 for a pound a line on all rides at Newbury bar the one racing against Troopingthecolour

Party time if these come in.

    1.20 Newmarket - CARDIGAN 7/1 (BOG)

I think Cardigan is excellent value at 7/1 for the opener at Newmarket. She was an impressive winner of her maiden last September getting the better of the re opposing Riot Of Colour by 2 1/4 lengths. That filly is much better off at the weights but Cardigan remains open to further improvement and the fact she contested at Group 1 level on only her 2nd career start suggests to me she is highly regarded as William Haggas isn't one to rush his horses. She should be fitter for that run and I would like to think she is capable of winning off a mark of 88.

Afternoon all, I've just been told by someone that was in Deauville last week that Francois Doumen told her that he was not bringing SIYOUMA over for Falmouth for the fun of it! She's available at 33s in places at the moment, so looks like a nice each way bet.
