Jordan Rhodes... at very worst if he doesn't bang them in for you and keep you up, you've got a prolific scorer to fire you straight back up. No brainer, really.
Aye I agree, plus it might be naive of me to think this about a modern footballer but I feel he wouldn't just be here for the money, he'd want to prove himself at this level. Like you say it's a no brainer but I dunno if Sam and the board are of the same opinion.
Although getting Ayew would be a big help for you guys to move up a bit , 12 million and Borini might be better spent elsewhere . Sam's reluctance to let this deal go dead has everything to do with his wish for us to drop down the table imo .
He's a 1 in 2 striker, always has been. I can think of two reasons why he hasn't had the move... 1) Blackburn's pathetic owners are demanding too much money and 2) Because he doesn't really offer much to the overall game play, other than when his team are attacking in the box. He could end up redundant in this league where there's far less room for passengers. Worth his weight in gold in that league though.
Nothing wrong with turning the head of your prized asset. He knows his agent well, there's a 100% chance that his agent will have told him 'no chance' if there was actually no chance.
Swansea are in for a striker from Italy, I think Ayew leaving might depend on that. Let wait and see, as I said earlier I don't see Ayew as a big upgrade on Borini so if nothing happens I won't be too unhappy, save the 12m for the summer.
