Well I never. I hadn’t seen that before. I had read an interview with him where he spoke about knocking Arsenal back in favour of us after speaking to his compatriots Arsenal. I can’t find it now but here’s another. He was clearly in demand.
That's when our scouting was good :emoticon-0105-wink:

took me a while to warm to him but in the end one of our top players in last 20 years. Sad how it finished up for him in England but at a stable club in France I think he'll get his mojo back

Loved the Spiderman, but did he shoot often enough? Some might say not

We chatted with him at an Awards night and when I did the pic of him with Mrs S while she subtley molested him she said “there’s no body fat on you” and he replied in a sexy french accent “I ‘ope not”

Morgan was a great player for us and he put in another good season (despite feeling aggrieved), so I wish him the best. And he may feel better about this move than we do because he’s going home.

I've noticed a number of your posts and you are clearly a clever person, but I humbly suggest that geography may not be a strength. Alsace is closer to Southampton than it is to Nice!

And if he wanted to go home, it's a pity he wasn't offered the chance to come 'home' to Southampton. No, I do get it. Going back and all that, and it wouldn't have fitted Ralph's vision for the club's direction. But even so. £2m? Just saying!

it’s quite nice in Nice. French Riviera and all
that.

It is very different to Alsace though

I like Alsace. I enjoyed Colmar and Strasbourg both lovely places. I liked Nancy in nearby Lorraine best. Haven't been there for years and not likely to again.

I went to Colmar 4 years ago. Beautiful place. Not top of the culinary charts for France, but a beautiful area and town. I went with work but will return there with the wife.

Strasbourg is a beautiful city, went there on a course about 25 years ago, where were wined and dined like royalty, but didn’t get a chance to explore outside the city. Tarte flambé is the local speciality, a superior version of pizza.

If I had to choose between the two areas, though, give me the Côte d’Azur every time.

One of only 2 players I have ever bothered getting their name on the back of a shirt. On the white with sash shirt. The other was Osvaldo which I got within a few hours of hearing he nutted Fonte. Both legends

Highly doubt he regrets his decision to leave. Maybe might think he chose the wrong club when moving to United but he achieved more there than he would've staying here and earned far more as well, no brainer.
