Its just plain dumb by any authority these days to just blanket blame and do a knee-jerk reaction. The amount of CCTV around and the fact that pretty much everyone has a video-camera in their pockets now. Its not like the 80s when things took years to come out, things are out there before the event has even finished, hell their out there as its happening. People would accept a 'gives us a couple of days to look at what happened' response.
Dno, think lot of people would think they’re taking a couple of days to try and manipulate the evidence.. but agree shoukd have put out a holding statement. Sensible thing would have just been to say, this hasn't gone as planned, we apologise to anyone caught up in things. We will do a proper review of what happened and take the relevant action.
That's never the way cos the pressure is on them right away with all the reporters screaming for answers and the scandal. Well I was referring to events and the amount of CCTV in cities in general. But yes 'losing' video evidence in this day and age, with backups, private cctv and phone cameras etc, you might as well just admit to being guilty.
