I think we should look at some of the younger players not the older ones, get some on trial too see if there's any hidden gems.
Well O'Brien's allegedly on about £20k which drops to £10k this season, and Schmeichel's on something like £16k; we also paid something in the region of £15-25kpw for McCartney and I imagine McCormack, Becchio and Snodgrass are all on sizeable amounts now too, so I wouldn't say wages are that much of an issue. It's true with the very top players (Reo-Coker et al.) that we can't compete, but then again, it's not worth spending beyond our means and breaking the bank just to have one player. Sometimes we need to take a qualified risk, but spending £30-40kpw on Premiership freebies probably isn't worth it, leave that to Leicester. Not saying we should do promotion on the cheap but we shouldn't do it profligately either.
Players like Reocoker, Woodgate etc. would be breaking our wage budget. Paying £30,000 a week plus for someone isn't worth it in the Championship, because you can have a squad capable of promotion without shelling out these wages. Tamir Cohen. Always thought he had some quality on the ball, good in the air, can put a tackle in. Wages would be affordable. David Vaughan is available from Blackpool. Brilliant left foot, composed on the ball, good going forward. David Jones from Wolves has looked decent when I've seen him play. Battling midfield, although I'd rather see others. JL Samuel. Left back, quite attacking and good going forward. Not sure how good he is defensively really. Obsourne is a DM from Aston Villa, he's 23 and has made 20 odd appearances for them, not sure how good he is. Gera, Panstil etc. there's some quality players, but whether they are affordable.
Best fans. vaughan left blackpool to stay in PL so that wud never happen. and JL samuel is the most unreliable full back iv ever seen and ive seen mccartney!
I think if Kasper does get sold, then Kingson may be a decent pick up. There's a lot of names on your list that I wouldn't mind seeing at Leeds
