According to BBC some of free transfers available from England include Matthew Upson, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Jason Koumas, James McFadden - we'll leave Sol Campbell out as he will no doubt be considering a 5 year deal from Darkhead.

Would any of these players be worth a punt? Their wage demands must be dropping daily as premier league clubs tighten their belts too.
 
Upson will stay down south and get about £50k a week.

Hitzlsperger is only 29, but again, he'll be on megamoney compared to what we can offer.

Koumas is ****e - lots of ability but seldom uses it.

McFadden - always injured.
