Hasn't the standard of free kicks gone way downhill in the last few years? I remember the anticipation of a free kick with Beckham on the pitch, or Van Hooijdonk with Notts Forest a decade ago. Now there is no anxiety with a free kick (apart from when they are against us.. as we can't defend them for ****) as we know they will eventuate from nothing.

Best free kick i've seen this season is Alex for Chelski against I can't remember. Was a cracker tho.

Also, on another note... Hurelio Gomes is a prick. Quickest recovery I've seen in a while, after his attempts at getting Gyan in trouble failed.

as for free kicks, sometimes, the answer is not to shoot but build.
