He's a good driver you cant deny that. finished 6th in the last grand prix. it would be interesting to see how he would do in the red bull
Personally, I think that while Schu is a wonderful driver, I think any number of drivers could have had his career with that Farrari. Of course there has to be someone who is the best, but how often does he get the best car? Almost never I'd guess.
Schuey won it in the Benetton...twice. Alonso is widely recognised as one of the best drivers along with Hamilton and Vettel and his Ferrari is ****e!
The best way to sort this would be for all the car keys to be put in a bowl (a la best wifeswapping parties ), and the drivers pick aset and they then drive that car. best driver wins, or it proves that it is the car which makes the difference
Just look how well Jensen Button has done since he had a decent car. How much better does the driver have to be to win in an inferior car? Would it be true to say that if the drivers were within (say) 10% of each other capability-wise the best car will (almost) always win? But what if the car being driven by the inferior driver was only 5% inferior. For a best driver competition they could have the drivers rotate round the cars. But I guess it's more about who builds the best cars rather than who is the best driver. So, the makers of the best cars will buy the best drivers and therefore (almost) always win. You can tell I'm not a motor racing fan. But my son is. He went to the Grand Prix in Melbourne, about 6/7 years ago?
SW6, Schu did indeed win the title twice with a Benetton, but they also won the constructors championship in his second year. They had a wonderful car. The best. To say that Ferrari are rubbish is in itself rubbish. I'm no fan of the make, but sweet jesus, they've had a fantastic record. When Schu drove for them he won 6 titles I think, he also finished 2nd in the championship another 4 times in the same make. If that's a rubbish car brand, then what are the rest?
it's pretty clear they are crap this season. Alonso is one of the best drivers and even he is happy with a 4th place start. he said he did the perfect lap and it was still over a second slower than the redbull. Alonso won it twice with renault beating schuey in his "weapon" to boot
There is no doubt that Ferrari have been crap for some time. Redbull rule the roost. But this doesn't change the point, if Schu or alonso had been in a redbull, would they be world champion? I say yes. If that's true, then the car makes the champion.
I was talking about the makers overall record at first, then at the second attempt, it's recent record. Quite easy really.
They're an amazing brand, but their performance this year is pretty bad in comparison to previous years, therefore their car is ****e Obviously the margin between winning the championship and being ****e is only about 1 second a lap, so in real terms the car is phenomenal and I would probably fill my pants, the cockpit and the track with **** and piss if I were to ever get the chance to go full tilt in one
