Has to reach the racetrack first. Hate to say this but many don't, and it's not necessarily anything to do with pedigree or cost.

That is a quite incredible bet to advertise. The punter would have to take 5-2 wait two years for the race and have benefitted only by any potential difference between the days SP and the 5-2. Were the horse to actually make it to a racecourse it would have to be working very well to be an even money shot in your average Newmarket or grade 1 course maiden.

The Racing Post have done my job for me and produced a list of all the known Frankel foals so far. There are 108 foals, 57 colts and 51 fillies.

You can see the list in full here

I will amend my list of mares to reflect this information, just in case they take the list down at some point.

In October last year it was announced that Frankel had 126 mares (of 133 covered) in foal. It is not known yet what has happened to the remaining 18 foals, either the owners have asked for the information not to be released yet, the mares lost their pregnancies late on, the foals died at birth or they were born overseas and not yet declared to the authorities here. Either way we will know when the Return of Mares is published in November/December.

She has a yearling filly by Oasis Dream, apparently already named SNOW MOON.

I see there is one out of Queens Logic. She was a fantastic 2yo who had to be retired without racing as a 3yo. Described as "the most outstanding filly to have never won a classic."

I know you aren't a fan of her sire Princess but we could have an exceptional miler here. More about Queens Logic can be read here.

It's not that I'm not a fan of her sire Ron, more that he was quite an over- hyped stallion. Coolmore tried to cash in and put his fee up massively over a short space of time but when he got the good quality mares he just didn't deliver.

In 2000 his fee was €12,500 but within 3 years it had shot up to the infamous "Private", with it published at €50,000 in his final year at stud. His best horses (Sinndar, Grandera, Queen's Logic, Indian Lodge) were all conceived when his fee was €12,500 or less.

I doubt if he was ever used at €50,000 Princess. That stud fee had already been published for 2004, the year he died, following a knee injury in 2003.

But if you look at his pedigree, it looks a "beaut" on paper when mixed with Frankel. What do you think of that combination?

PS. On top of that, Queens Logic's dam was by Diesis

It is a good pedigree and the cross with FRANKEL will be interesting.

I've had a quick look and interestingly 5 of QUEEN'S LOGIC's 7 progeny have been by Mr Prospector line sires. Her only Northern Dancer-line mating was with SEA THE STARS in 2010 and produced PRINCE OF STARS who has raced twice and won once. The other exception was her best produce to date, LADY OF THE DESERT (who is by RAHY - Blushing Groom-line), she is also in FRANKEL's first book.

They've released some info on Frankel's second book. From Racing Post:

The son of Galileo has covered 131 mares, 111 of whom (85 per cent) are winners, 70 of whom (53 per cent) are stakes winners and 29 (22 per cent) of whom are Group/Grade 1 winners.

Frankel's second book also includes 57 dams of stakes winners (44 per cent) and 22 dams of Group/Grade 1 winners (17 per cent). In total, 117 of his matings this year have been with black-type mares or producers of black-type runners - a heady 89 per cent of his book.

The standouts of this year's covers include Group 1 winners Danedream, Giofra, Midday, Sariska, Zarkava and Zenda, the dam of today's St James's Palace Stakes favourite and Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Kingman.

Amazing the quality of the mares sent to Frankel. PN are we possibly seeing a shift of power in racing from Coolmore?

Nass it's possible, but, as they will remind everyone, they still own The Daddy - Galileo. Plus they have breeding rights to Frankel, I think 6 of them.

Juddmonte have always been very select, culling their broodmare band on an annual basis and rarely making purchases at the sales, those decisions and the investment in their families has been paying off for some time, but now they really seem to have hit the jackpot!

Oddy, I believe Coolmore bought the colt after his first run in the US. I suspect he may be left here in the care of AO'B as Wesley Ward commented after the race that the colt didn't like running on dirt.
