As others have said, the figure of £30million is purely an insurance figure to protect against loss of income should anything happen to him. They won't be allowed to carry out fertility tests on him in advance as this invalidates the insurance. They will only know whether he's up to the job (if you'll pardon the expression), when he covers a few test mares in (most likely) January 2013.
