The half brother to Frankel has been declared at Newmarket on Friday.

Kalidasa, the most expensive yearling sold in Europe last year, has entries at Chelmsford on Saturday and Kempton on Monday so hopefully we will see him out soon.

Wednesday Results

Baraq - 3rd (big run at 50/1!)
Ghostlore - non runner

Frantanck - unplaced (7th)

Love Mystery - unplaced (12th)

Mujid - unplaced (4th)

Chase The Dollar - 2nd

Both Westover and Adayar have been confirmed as going off to stud in Japan for 2024. A real shame that two such talented middle distance runners could not be found a berth at a Flat stud here or in Ireland.

Surely a son of Frankel?
Isn't the half-brother Kikkuli?

Yes, that is a shame. Maybe they fear too many successful Frankel sires will provide too much choice at the foal sales and have a negative impact on sale prices. Might live to regret that when one of their sons wins the Arc.

On the other hand, increasing international success would have a positive affect on Frankel's stud value

Thursday results

Sefton Warrior - non runner (refused to line up)

Franberri - 1st:emoticon-0171-star:
Gift of Love - 2nd

Oh dear, I'm expecting someone to say, no they took their time with this one. No need now. Apologies

Hutchence - unplaced (7th) very green, but a lovely looking sort and should come on for the run

I took a few photos at Newmarket yesterday, the first is Kikkuli, Frankel’s half brother, and the second is the very flashy Hutchence.

I’ve never been a massive Frankie fan on a personal level, but my word that was some ride he gave Inspiral! Lucky for him she had the gears to see it through!

Saturday results

Gates - unplaced (7th)

Prince Imperial - unplaced (11th)

Achillea - unplaced (5th)

Regal Jubilee - 1st:emoticon-0171-star: New Stakes Winner

Impulsive Lady - unplaced (7th)

Inspiral - 1st:emoticon-0171-star: First Breeders Cup Winner
With The Moonlight - unplaced (7th)
McKulick - unplaced (12th)

Kelina - unplaced (9th)

Onesto - unplaced (6th) - came flying in the final few hundred yards, could well have finished closer had he not had to come from so far back
Mosthadaf - unplaced (8th) plainly and simply didn’t stay

Both colts are now off to stud. At a guess Onesto will be €10,000 and Mostahdaf £20,000.

We should get Frankel’s new fee in the coming days, I know it’s going up but whether he will surpass Dubawi on £350,000 I don’t know.
