JG has said that Cracksman will not run until October, if the ground remains good or good to firm then there is a chance he will not run again, that's sad news.

I’m sure they can find him something in France or Germany if it’s all about the ground.

Problem is, if he can't run on good ground, how can he prepare for the Arc on it?

I have just read that Cracksman will go straight to the Arc, JG said he does not need a prep race as he goes better fresh, he also said that Enable will have a low key run in a grp3 in September.

Looks like we are going to get the match providing Enable comes through her prep race.

look at the top horses Frankel has sired so far

Cracksman, Without Parole, Monarchs Glen, Elarqam, Eminent, Mirage Dancer

all nutters going the wrong way, most of them capable of running shockers, Mirage Dancer coming good now, might end up the best of them over the next few years

Frankel has a load of quite high rated horses but a lot of them have gone at the game or are overrated, considering the unprecedented level of mares, I think you have to say he is a bit disappointing so far and that plenty of sires could have done just as well or better with the same opportunity, he was never going to produce another one of him, he was a genetic freak of nature, hes passing on a lot of his bad qualities that Cecil managed to horses who dont have his freakish ability

perhaps his mares will produce like Secretariats

Well the facts say different, at this stage of his stallion career he is still ahead of his sire and the others in the top 10, he also produced a classic winner from his first crop (Soul Stirring). While i agree that alot of his offspring are very temperamental it's still early days.

He will never produce another like him but he will still produce good horses, as for NH horses the two that have gone there so far are very mediocre. Most of his offspring will go to stud.

His first book is his peak, they couldn't make a stronger book I they wanted.

I'll put it like this if you had a Oaks winner would you send her to Frankel, Kingman or a sprinter like No Ney Never. If your answer is Frankel you must be desparate to win a stayers hurdle.

Same as Galileo you can't breed to stamina or you'll get Supasundae.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion <laugh>

I must be missing something completely here. Franker was a miler. Possibly the best 8f horse we have ever seen. Surely to God the dam has to be a 10f+ horse to produce a Derby/Oaks winner.....

Frankel ended his career as a 10f, his best performance was in the Juddmonte 10/1/2 f, never came of the bridle and beat group 1 winners by 7l.

Count Octave gave Stradivarius a run for his money in the Lonsdale Cup, his dam never raced further than 10f so you would not have thought he would get 2 1/2 mile. You can never tell, he has covered Oaks winners who have not done that well. His best horse to date Cracksman, his dam never raced further than 10f but he's a proven 12f horse. There is no rhyme or reason.

Tends to be a trait in the Saldiers Wells line that Stamina is almost always dominant. The two above that Chaos mentioned are both from that line, Yeats, Order of St George, all those Cup horses tend to be from that line.

Frankel winning the guineas was as much about his stamina. Going that pace would have most top class milers emptied by the two pole but he had the stamina to keep it up for the full mile.

Most of what he as thrown had needed more than a mile. The only exception is Without Parole who had the perfect run of a slowly run race in the Sussex and couldn't quicken.

Same with Galileo hence why John Magner has spent a fortune buying sprinters like Meccas Angel to send to him.
