Postscript on the Derby, ARREST just didn’t handle the track and the ground - the writing was on the wall a long way out. MILITARY ORDER was very disappointing, the Godolphin horses haven’t been running great lately so maybe (hopefully) there was something amiss and he can bounce back .

As for HURRICANE LANE, he really is an enigma. Doesn’t want it too soft or too firm apparently (despite for, on both!) and definitely has his own ideas about the game. Whether a campaign in “softer” races on the continent would be better for him, or whether to pull up stumps and let him have a well deserved retirement with the ladies I don’t know.
 
On a happier note, my early start yesterday was worth it in the end with my daughter coming home from her martial arts tournament with 3 bronze medals in her category!

Well Flight Leader didn’t manage it, but Ace Impact a son of Cracksman did, so we can at least celebrate a “sire of sires” moment!

A shame Golden Myrrh is not being ridden by Dettori. Imagine the headline if she had unshipped him as the stalls opened: "Golden Myrrh has Frankie incensed".
