Sorry, had an insanely busy week! Will catch up with results from this week in due course, but here is today’s sole runner
Apologies for the lack of updates over the last few weeks - busy at work in the run up or Christmas and then took a bit of time out for family and relaxation! Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and of course we have to acknowledge that Frankel was formally crowned Champion GB & IRE Sire for the first time in 2021. He’s the first British-based Ch Sire since Mill Reef in 1987 and the first non-Coolmore Ch Sire since Blushing Groom in 1989. With the passing of Galileo in the summer the adage “The King is dead. Long live the King” is particularly apt. But down to regular business. Since I last posted there have not been a huge number of runners but GB/IRE results have been as follows Just the one runner to look out for today
Good read: Frankel is the world’s top sire of 2021 | Topics: Into Mischief, Kingman, Galileo, Deep Impact, Prince Khalid Abdullah, Frankel, Dubawi, Super Saver | Thoroughbred Racing Commentary
Missed one in France! Silver Quartz (at Deauville) - 1st - first winner of 2022! at Meydan Fabrizio - unplaced (11th) Magical Land - 2nd Latest Generation - unplaced (12th)
On a separate topic, I’m dropping this here for people to listen to when they have the chance. I’ve known Sam for a number of years and he speaks a lot of sense.
