    This. United don't need a Lampard, he is no good with his back to goal. United play a very direct attacking game, often playing clever passes a cross the 18 yard box. All Lampard seems to do in that position is shoot. He would add nothing to your game. He might get a few goals but would probably break down and waste far more opportunities. Its often better to buy someone you need rather than waste a wage and signing fee on a free transfer you don't.

    He could get lampard on a pay-as-you-play basis like he did with Owen. Just to wind up the Chavs...<laugh>

    im not opposed to the idea for at most 2 years, but he's not really what we need in midfield now is he, he is different to what we have but i think we need more of a midfield enforcer, and maybe another more creative midfielder to replace scholes, though this could depend on if Kagawa drops into a deeper role, or if Powell is likely to play more next year
