Frank Lampard vs Steven Gerrard

Lampard scored the winner in an FA Cup final. Bit more of a contribution than winning (another) trophy on a pen shoot out. Most people remember that FA cup final as yet another Lucky trophy win for the recent Liverpool side having been outplayed (again) for most of the game.

 

Oh and the difference between them each winning or not winning the european cup is how others performed in a pen shoot out. However over a full league season Frank has consistently been Chelsea's best player in 3 title winning sides. Gerrald on the other hand...0 league titles and counting.

I have to concede that Gerrard is a great playmaker, that goal he set up for France in the Euros was amazing as was Drogba's goal at Anfield in 2010. Inch perfect passes.

 

Didn't Lampard just lead England to beating Spain? Agreed Gerrard is more of a playmaker but come on, Lamps would be Chelsea captain if JT wasn't

Of course not, it is a team sport after all.

However Lampard's honours and achievements rank higher. And given he is one of if not the best performer for Chelsea in the last 7-8 years it's fair to say he has won medals because of his contributions not solely because of who he is surrounded by...as opposed to say Wes Brown and his C.L/league medals!!
